The Dancer that now has their entire technical step thrown out by 15 seconds at the 2 minute buff window.

Is being selfish and pre-pulling really a good mentality to have if it damages the gameplay of others?

You're expecting too much from randoms in the DF and yes there's that much a difference in the community's culture between JP and the rest of the global playerbase. Idk how things are in the Chinese or Korean versions. I mean heck NA and probably just Aether DC is known to groan and eye roll at people who move to those servers from other DC for their use of macro for fight strategies. We'd rather behave like a child being dragged kicking and screaming to come eat our brussel sprouts than embrace what I've been told is the easier way to choose spots for fights. Instead of you know getting into arguments about how that one person refuses to learn a different fight responsibility based off being asked to go to a different clock spot.

I have noticed this alot since moving to NA, Protean spread and the concept of it just doesnt exist, even if 90% of mechanics in the game are based off of the positions.

Did some E12S clears and explained to people what the JP protean spread was and they were amazed at how simple it was to do mechanics when they knew their pre-assigned positions from the very start without having to line up and create light parties ect ect for 5 mintues every instance.

Just hope those players pass the information along in activities they do and people start to adopt it.

D3 MT D4
H1 [ ] H2
D1 OT D2

D1/D2 always melee for positionals
D3 is normally PhyRanged
D4 is normally caster
H1 pure heals
H2 shield heals


Need a light party?

All the odd # go left with MT, Evens go right with OT. There, two perfect light parties.

Need Partner stacks?
Cardinals DPS rotate clockwise.
Intercardinals T/H rotate clockwise. (Think Seat of sac EX)


No more messing around trying to adjust positions every time you join a new group, you just say 'D1' if your a melee and prefer SE position.

Gosh, Aether is so awful about picking some big name's strategy and adopting it and never budging past that strategy even when it's bad. It's so mindboggling. It's part of why I refuse to raid if I don't have a static.

On the flip side, Aether's usually pretty decent about waiting for cutscenes. Usually. Just had an Orbonne Monastery run where three or four people were in cutscenes and the whole alliance waited. I was so proud.

But that's the only time in a non-extreme/savage/TEA content I expect any sort of waiting before pulling, tbh. And as soon as everyone was inside the room, we pulled, no countdown.

Draw is on a 30 sec CD. No casual raid (aka DF normals) is going to want to wait 30 seconds just for AST to have Astrodyne in their opener outside of the AST asking at the start.

its weird how JP servers people will gladly wait 15 seconds so people can play the game as intended, but NA is so worried about their own personal time investment (that 15 seconds afking in limsa that they miss out on) that they will gladly grief others just to get something done 15 seconds faster. (Which in reality, actually slows down a fight due to misaligned raid buffs and unoptimized rotations).

it makes you wonder how the two regions are so different in the way the game plays.

Yeah we also tend to be the DC that chooses to set absurd ilvs and disallow jobs just because someone they know somewhere said X job sucked this tier even if it's a week before the unlock on loot. Like if you are still having trouble with a fight that late into a tier it's probably not the strat or job exclusion or the ilv problem...

And yeah we do tend to wait for Cutscene watchers at least when enough of the patient part of the community isn't on break. Otherwise it's a 50/50 on if you get a run with the ants in pants gotta go fast types or the pulls after a ready. The only other place we seem to have manners is during hunt trains.
