Starting to get the itch again. Can't decide what to do, though. Back to Viera or Au Ra? Or try something new? I dunno.
(Before someone says it, no, not lalafell. Tried it with an alt, it's just not for me.)

I sometimes fantasia into other races because being a lalafell since ever, I get ignored or whatever so I just turn into something else to avoid that. A shame because I also enjoy roleplaying with my lalafell, had some good times with it since i play a comedy relief character, but "lalafell bad because" and I just lose patience and stop caring, yadda yadda.
But in truth, I just prefer to go lalafell and heck I might return to my original lala one day - this is more like a different thing, but i really miss my original red-headed lalafell. So one day i might go back to her and stick with it. Even if it means zero chats...actually that sounds great, why the heck didn't I think that before?!
On the other hand, I have alts when I'm bored so that helps too. -

I can't imagine changing anything about Camille. He and I have been through an awful lot together, and I cried in ShB when he was hurting. He's my baby.

Well, I don't fantasia often, but things like, say, something about having to chase a certain cerulean-crowned child an additional time for each alt definitely makes the ten bucks feel like more worthwhile of an investment if I do want another look :)

Well, I do it by working it into my character's story.
My character sometimes switches from male lalafell to female au ra.
Think Ranma 1/2.
Now, this is strictly for RP reasons and used to happen maybe once every four months or so. Nowadays I barely have time to play the game, let alone RP, so I haven't fantasia'd in a bit more than a year, I think...
I still have much more of an attachment to my character's original appearance so whenever I have switched, it has never really lasted very long. The one thing that always threw me off a bit is that I maintained the lalafell name even when fanta'd to au ra so that's a bit weird... then again, in-world people don't just have their names floating above em so... /shrug -

Any character I make, I get 3 free Fantas. I've used 2 of 3 on my main since I went au ra after HW dropped for funsies (did the same from lala to au ra on my other main) but I used that chance when I changed back to her regular look to change her voice because while I liked the sample they had for the /chuckle for her original voice I chose, the actual /laugh was godawful, so her voice changed into something similar but it wasn't a... horse laugh... anymore lol.
I have a couple of Fantas stashed for when I do an RP story that's been in the works for a bit with voidsent possession, but no idea when it'll end up happening. Just... eventually. :D So, one for the change to an au ra for the look, one for the change back when it's cleared up someday. Otherwise, I only really use them to change minor things on a character when I make them like voice or skin tone or "god i thought that nose was different but no, it's terrible".
