Lalafell are cute for sure, and I'd play one no matter what the stigma if I weren't a sucker for how good lots of armour looks like on taller forms. The potato meme is funny, and I'm like 150-160 cm tall IRL so you can't really say I enjoy bullying short people. It's just a harmless joke.

It may be 'harmless' but when you hear it 20-30 times a day, it really gets irritating.

And it isn't just the potato part. It is being called a paedophile, not being allowed to engage in some forms of RP (and I am not talking about ERP), etc.

Surely it will. But welcome to the internet where jokes often get recycled to the point of being anoying. Just learn to ignore it (it will help your sanity, even at other parts).

And i can understand, for a lot of people lala's are still kids, and especialy in RP this can matter (depends a lot on the people though). In this case, just make an alt char. If after asking to join they say no lala's, you can at least tell that you will change char for it. And most will be fine with that. At the same time, you can also do a 'kids only' RP event, and refuse anything but lalas (tbh, the game already has done this by making some buildings lala only). For RP this is fine.

It should be. But to me the biggest issue isn't that we can "report and ignore". The issue is that no one speaks up on it, and when people do, they're told they're lying or exaggerating. These comments should outrage anyone, they shouldn't be accepted by the community. Yet the reaction people give is a pretty mild "Oh. Meh." when people are being ostracised entirely for it.
There should be a push to not say these things at all. To change perception. But there isn't. People think it's harmless because it's just a word, but it can go beyond that.
Again, last time I brought it up with someone, I was told to take a break from the game and that I was lying.

I blame this on the EN version, because the original JP version has zero problems with portraying Lalafell with more mature voices. Not that it'd crush the stereotype entirely, but it would at least help. Another big thing is that their emotes are very childish and jovial, they're really haming up that part of them, so it's really uncanny sometimes to take them as adults...

...yet they are adults, in the world of Eorzea. And I'd understand some venues being against their inclusion for obvious reasons, but generally speaking interacting or roleplaying with a Lalafell in a more serious and mature tone shouldn't be discouraged. And in saying this, I realize it can be taken as "It's okay to ERP with a Lalafell", but I'm actually just saying that it's okay to treat a Lalafell as an adult character. ERP and such falls under a purview that you yourself have to define, not the person you are with. Rather, if you see a Lalafell who happens to be a teacher at Sharlayan, then they are a teacher at Sharlayan. They will look like a young student, or even a toddler (Krile doesn't help with her trenchcoat), but they're adults. And can say crap, can drink and can fight monsters, same as you.

And I understand people being put-off by Hrothgar, I really do. ERPing with one must definitely fall into a weird category. No, it doesn't mean furries and people who play and ERP with Hrothgar want to have intercourse with an animal. Just that they have a different perception of the character than you do. I personally prefer to focus on their mannerisms than anything else, and only, what, one? emote is feral? The others really play up the chivalrous aspect of Hrothgar, always being courteous and bowing and stuff. Just look at /dote or /spectacles.
But I get that ERPing with one will be weird. However, the fact that a person is playing a Hrothgar or wants to go into your venue as one doesn't mean they're there to go "yiff" or "woof" or "purr" at you. They're there to roleplay a serious, sober and mature character. If you think that's what they'll do, then you're thinking of the Khajit. And they're not Khajit.

But if the purpose of me wanting to roleplay with you makes you think I want to ERP with you, then there's something wrong with you. I just want to act out a totally normal scene, I have zero interest in pixel porn.

And if your establishment isn't one for ERP, why are you ostracising races who likely won't even interact with you? Because you perceive them to be animals or kids when the story itself says they're not? If you have an ERP venue, I'd get it. If you have a venue with certain services, I'd get it. But if you're not, why are you so weirded out? And even if you are, you don't get to tell a player they're a pedophile or a zoophile just for playing the race. There are ways to decline services. Attacking the player isn't it.

FFXI had the same races, but I can't remember ever seeing any jokes because I played a Tarutaru.

I played FFXI for years. The people that played TaruTaru saw the same potato jokes that Lalas see today from what I saw. Granted people were joking though.
