Don't know what rank you're on, but later on, the backline outside of your opener will just ignore you because of no kill potential. That damage you're talking about is every 30 seconds since you have to wait around for it. Compared to other melee. It feels pretty bad going for backline, they just silence and root or poly the burst and ignore you for the next 30 seconds.

Best:

Tanks: WAR - best engage, over the top self sustain. Should never lose 1v1.
Healer: WHM - line based LB that deals lot of damage and stuns in tunnel based maps? Also kit is great too.
Melee: Sam - instakill, Stun, bind and high damage what's not to like. DRG is great too.
Ranged: While non are S tier worthy MCH is pretty good choice. Can dish out lot of damage in short window. But fall very quickly when focused by melee.
Casters: RDM and not even close. Probably only SS tier job. Tho SMN is worthy mention and pretty good too.

Worst:

Tank: GNB and PLD - if you see one on your team you are at disadvantage.
Healer: SGE - tho i have seen some doing pretty good.
Melee: RPR - not sure about their kit but never seen one doing great.
Range: BRD - just doesn't work in CC small maps. Decent in FL tho.
Caster: BLM - don't play it in ranked trust me.

I have to say I mostly agree


NIN and Sam LB are too hard to deal with and need some nerf in a way or another. NIN's trigger should either be low, range be reduced and/or only 1 extra kill allowed.
SAM's annoyingness isn't really that it can OS 1 person attacking him every 2min, it's that at the same time it shreds half the team to half health while doing it. Kuzuchi should NOT proc from AoE hit, that gives too much freedom on who to OS at not extra cost.
I should be able to ignore the SAM while his LB is up. (which should be THE counter play to that LB)
WAR AoE stun needs a nerf, either CD, either AoE stun removed (or only ST, +heavy AoE let say). Also, their healing capability while in berserk shouldn't be enhanced by the extra damage. That makes them too tanky compared to other tanks
DRG : Tbh the only real issue is that the AoE circle from their LB is virtually invisible in a team fight.
WHM : Considering it's only a 60s CD, nerfing the dmg to 12k would feel appropriate. It does a bit too many good things for its CD (or bumping up the CD to 90s). A line Ult in a tunnel map also makes it a bit too practical. Perhaps turning into Holy would keep it really good while nerfing the sniper aspect of it.
AST : LB is definitely too long and should be brought down to 90s. Maybe reduce Macrocosme to 25s to help the AoE healing a little. ST is fine with dual cast imo. Ewer should probably be replaced by Bole. Ewer seems fine on paper but 2500mp over 15s will rarely be of use to anyone but the tank. I'm unsure about boosting the cards to 15%.
DRK : TBN is just too weak. Considering its tie to Shadowbringer it should at the very least be 15s. And the shield ... like 8k for real? Salted Earth could see either its CD or duration improved, it is central to its gameplay.
SMN : Tbh feels fine to me. They do consistently well, Pheonix while rarely used is actually extremely potent. Crimson Cyclone and Strike could perhaps reduce the CD of Radiant Aegis to help its survival while going in melee. Slipstream should make allies sprint in it x)
MCH: My main job, I feel like The turret CD is too long or doesn't last enough. The rest feels fine, perhaps a small boost to my filler, 4000 is rather bleh. Overheat doesn't feel that rewarding for the time it takes to get it. LB, I wish I could say "60s" but that would probably makes it too good.
SAG: Not commenting havn't played it enough
RPR: Same
BRD: Biggest and only issue, imo, is the LD. it is just waaayy too long. it should be 60s. The rest of the toolkit is fine to me.
SCH: LB should be reduced to 60s. Mummification range is too short. Expedient reduced to 20 or even 25s would go a long way to help the job. The 10% buff on shield and dot should also perhaps be upped to 15s. It just feels like you're a bit short of doing enough.

DNC: Dnc buffs just seem too weak for what it does. On the other hand boosting a SAM/DRG even further sounds like a bad idea...
PLD: Squishy. You're just, squishy. Guardian should be reduced to 20s and include a damage reduction from the ally source, like 20%. Holy Shieltron should be 15s. Clemency should be added in some way. Like after doing Guardian you get Clemency for instance, 12k heal for 10s

BLM: Burst should be instant and 8yalms. Even when melee are on you they're somehow out of range. NightWings just doesn't work because if you're staying at range you can't do it on the other team range, to effectively CC them. If you do it in melee it's a 4s delayed 6k dmg on 30s which is lame. This skill needs a rework. Leyline would be nice to reduce the ramp-up time for the DoT. Paradox dmg could be slightly buffed too, like 12k.

Having played a ton to plat (Not crystal yet) in a single weekend I feel that I can really only talk about my most played classes/matchups but giving a bit of a rundown on everything I've seen so far.

Tanks
GNB (My PVE Main usually) - Laughably bad. If you don't have a tank on the other team, you can't tank, you have no sustain without draw/junction, the healing you get from such is bad, the limit break is easily avoidable/interruptible the burst damage is basically useless when a monk with less hp can mitigate/crowd control/etc better than you can and do more dps.

DRK - Annoying more than anything, aside from being able to invuln for way too long to hold a point from progressing, they're more or less just a nuisance. If they catch you off guard with salt it can hurt.

PLD - Usually not too bad to deal with but I find it hilarious that they gave a tank class a skill to jump in and take someone elses damage with no way to mitigate it, which with unbalanced teams and need for a tank on the field means you will never use this in ranked except in rare cases.

WAR - Hilariously Overpowered. An AOE stun that goes off on button click from range can easily fuck up your whole day. You can spend a whole minute or three fighting a WAR to get their ass off the point to have them right back to stunning you and griefing you 10s later. There's a reason they're the meta tank. CC/Heals/Damage. They have it all.

Healers
WHM - Hilariously Overpowered. A 15s cooldown one button press instant cast 12k damage button. A single button press dash that not only does damage but gives protect to its party AND procs an AOE heal. A SECOND purify that gives a huge/doubled shield if it purifies a status ailment. A LB that goes off faster than most classes that not only mitigates but buffs damage applies a regen and stuns to nuke the enemy team, and a transform that isn't curable by Purify. I don't know what they were thinking launching this when the kits of the other healers are kinda hilarious by comparison.

SGE (My Healer Main/now my pvp main) - I can usually top damage as SGE but that's not really a great thing to say when you can't support your team as good as WHM/AST. The dps is nice but needs something more.

AST - A good AST can ruin your day. Heavy is no joke in this mode and they can buff dps and LB. If you have a good AST on your team you can steamroll.

SCH - Mummification sounds good on paper until you realize that WHM can just stun them/cc them/etc. Why nerf healing when you can stop it completely? They can do crazy good sustain damage in modes like Frontlines due to Bio spread and adlo giving a dps buff is "neat" but it barely lasts long enough to matter.

DPS
MNK- feels undertuned and I've never really had to worry about them.

NIN- Amazing with good players, but only burst every 30s means you're spendinga lot of time just poking with shuriken. Can delete people though.

DRG - Some crazy good damage and mobility, can hold a point while off the map during LB, and you can't see the LB to boot. Very good class imo.

RDM - Crazy utility and high skill ceiling on the level of NIN. White/Black shift is a super cool mechanic and can be used to fill in the gaps in party rotation a bit.

BLM - NEver been a real issue outside of rare cases where they know how to burst from range. Don't even really know what they do.

BRD - Silence and ranged damage and good utility and I believe LB charge as well. SOlid supporter for the team.

MCH - That instakill is way more than 3% I'll tell you that. I liked my time with MCH and it's interesting in mechanics but putting bio/drill/air anchor/chainsaw all on one button combo feels pretty terrible to execute. You have a ton of tools for a ton of situations though.

SAM - People say the LB is super "contextual" but I've watched it delete a party too many times to care. It feels like if they have this you might as well prep to die or run. They can also gap close and ruin your day.

RPR - SAMlite. They're not bad I just don't notice them usually/kill them before they're a problem.

SMN - Either amazing or terrible depending on the player . Can do some debuffing some aoe damage and some bonkers burst with LB.

DNC - The LB is neat.

Going back through the thread this is a really weird take.

WHM has a single button press 12k damage they can spam every 15s.

WHM has a button to press to launch into a group of enemies, do damage and cast protect AOE, AND procs an aoe cure.

WHM has a LB that charges faster than almost everyone elses, which gives you an instant no penalty stun beam of death that with the aforementioned afflatus 12k instant button can delete people if they've been in battle for a total of 5seconds.

WHM has Aquaveil which is a SECOND purify that doubles shield potency if it's used to cure a debuff.

WHM has a two charge heal (that's currently busted) but does 12k heals from range.

WHM has a transform that can't be cured with Purify.

Yes you can't 1v1 someone as a WHM but as a support/healer the WHM kit is literally busted in almost every way on top of being genuinely glitched lol. There's a reason WHM/WAR is the meta.

I've made it to Crystal almost exclusively on Mnk. Setting my own bias aside, it's...I dunno, very feast or famine? I feel like I'm either dominating or a helpless pup. It has very high single target burst which seems to catch people off guard very often. Ridiculous mobility, likely the highest of all jobs. LB is kind of understated next to the other melees, but it completely locks your target down independent of other CC effects, and you're also able to break shields independent of your warrior. Very handy against solo stall heroes. Not to mention the most responsive and reliable push ability which chunks a lot of aoe damage to boot. The main drawback is ramp up time to Phantom Rush. If you're getting too much heat and can't keep attacking it becomes hard to contribute outside of Enlightenment. It feels very well balanced to me, but if Sam Nin and Drg are the benchmark then people will naturally look down on you. I feel it's one of the stronger of the jobs that isn't really talked about along with AST.

Curious that I see so many people putting PLD in bottom tier. In diamond/crystal I see... a ton of WARs, of course, but if there's another tank, it's PLD. I don't see DRK or GNB at all - those are the two I'd put at D/F tier.

Does anyone know how to fix the bard bug where you’re stuck in a walking speed? I feel like it would be pretty good and fun to play if it wasn’t for that.
