It's not like they don't want to if the possibility is there, they just can't because of japanese law

I'll let you in on a little secret. SE is perfectly content doing absolutely nothing about mods because that community comprises well over 80,000 members in just one discord; of which their are several more with thousands of members. Banning mods would mean a good amount of these players quit the game entirely, thereby losing SE significantly more than even Mogstation purchases could recoup. Nevermind that banning mods means requiring users to have DRM installed so they could actually see what programs we have. This would inevitably break tools like ACT. So that 80,000 number just keeps getting larger.
Even if we just assume 40,000 people who mod and/or use ACT all quit due to both programs being permanently broken. That's an estimated $520,000 monthly thrown away for literally nothing. And that is a very generously small assessment considering how popular ACT and mods are nowadays. You, for example, aren't quitting the game because other players may have mods installed. Therefore, they aren't losing your sub, regardless. Hence why SE has, and will continue, to do nothing about these programs so long as they aren't directly used to harass others.
Twitter is blighted by weird mods and questionable fetishes, OF is blighted by misinformed folks or ppl who can but wont read.
Im not a fan of either honestly.
Well Yoshi P said they dont want to, im not denying the JPN laws, just saying what he said.
Also random thought, an NPC near the Sharlayan Marketboard is ledge sitting aaaa
Wow. Once again. Not everyone can afford a good enough computer to play the game. Some just like playing on console. Should they be punished? Who makes fun of someone for playing on console? I guess the fanbase of this game is younger than other MMOs, but this is unbelievable.
But I've seen people make fun of those who have money issues. I've seen people on this forum make fun of people with mental disabilities. I've seen people on this forum make fun of people with physical disabilities. I never thought in a million years that this community would actually be worse than my previous MMO. Stunned to my core.
What a silly, melodramatic take. Why do you feel punished because you simply can't have something nice that someone else has? My brother has a better job than me, so he goes on better vacations. Am I punished by only going on my vacations? Your insistence on being the victim here is frankly embarrassing.
Sure, but who would actually go through the trouble of doing this just for PvP where your contribution is only 1/24th of the equation and you'll get rewarded regardless of whether you win or lose?
I don't see how making characters bigger would be helpful, and seeing stealthed characters would only be helpful for the first 2 or 3 gcd's before it becomes a war of attrition like all 1 on 1 PvP fights do unless some other people join to help
Uh.. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt because you pretty obviously don't understand how the mods actually work, but they legit cannot just make your character naked unless you're sitting around with absolutely no gear on (and why would you even be doing that to begin with)? I'd also like to point out that its not just "swap files and done" in regards to "paid optional Korean outfits". Mod creators first have to find a piece of gear that closely resembles the outfit in question, as if they don't not only is it a lot of work trying to get the outfit to work properly but even after all their effort it still might not work at all. I also rather like how you've got this, "Even though I can't see it I know its still there and so I don't like it" mentality going on. If you can't see it why exactly does it bother you? It legit doesn't affect your game at all, so at this point you're just trying to police what other players are doing which is technically against the ToS, much like using mods can be.
And believe it or not, improving graphics into 4k or whatever is an extremely small minority of the modding community. Most who use outfit mods (which is a very large part of the modding community) use them purely because they want an outfit to look better, not just graphics-wise but appearance wise. Many use them just to hide capes, which look ugly on nearly everything in the game because half of the game's races all have tails that cause clipping. In my case, I'd likely use mods because most of the caster outfits and armors in this game just look like crap, with the exception of the Scion Sorceress set (which I bought as soon as it went on sale because it was better than spending who knows how long trying to find a caster outfit mod I liked).
Today I did see some fellow players that was using Cheat Engine to be able to sit on places there they should not be able to sit. Told the person in a very polite way it's not smart using Cheat Engine. And they start defending the use of it. No one cares etc. They make me the bad person. What direction is this going to take if Square Enix won't stop this for good? Will everyone just not care and install and use 3.party software and be able to do whatever they want? What will be next? Teleporting to all mining nodes? Making character fly if you have not unlocked flying?
