I have nothing against role-players nor do I find the practice in itself to be weird, given that it's my favorite part of playing D&D, I just don't mix RP and MMOs. Nothing wrong with those who do, though, they're having a good time and it's all that matters!
Where I draw the line, however, is 'imposing' said role-play on others, especially in a party environment. If you want to Role-Play, do so on your own time, not mine. I'm here to pew pew some monsters and explode some bosses, not entertain the musings of Sir Reginald the Third. And this goes for non-RP chatter as well: nothing wrong with a lil' socializing when running to the next pull or while waiting for someone to catch up, but when a healer stops halfway through a pull to chat away while the tank is fighting for his life due to not getting heals, I tend to get annoyed o.x. It also drives me bonkers when we get to a boss and everyone stands there, doing nothing, while the tank presumably chats away with their FC.

No, someone should not be trying to force you into roleplaying with them. THey were in the wrong, and as a roleplayer, I wouldn't be doing this to anyone. Banter perhaps, but not like I know the actual people. If i pug with random people, I just wanna do the dungeon.
