grand companies update on the lodestone!! but still very little info

interesting back story though. <3 the art in it

Yep, that art's sweet, reminiscent of WoTG teasers, although the lore on the page they just introduced has me thinking more of a conquest/signet system (which is just as sweet IMO!)

I hope the following questions will be answered or made clear soon:
1. Can I as character from Ul'dah still join The Maelstrom?
2. Are their benefits for DoL to be a botanist in The Order of the Twin Adder or a miner in the Immortal Flames?
3. And will it also change quest content and possible other future content for my character, if yes how much?
4. Is the company of your choice a permanent decision?
5. What will the role of companies be against the Garlean Empire and are there notable differences in the roles of the companies?
6. Will the companies equally affect the gameplay and content of the DoH and DoL aside from the DoW and DoM?

Personally I would like the choice of company to be a permanent decision since it could lead to a bit more diversity in players.
I really hope the questions I have above can be (partially) answered or made clear in the near future.

also, i remember, vaguely, that companies will be like a larger, goal oriented, trophy recognized, Linkshell group with a headquarters. i remember reading this, i cannot provide a link unfortunetly.

I really wish they would clarify this but I'm under the impression that Grande Companies are different than Companies run by linkshells.

Looks likes there are lots of questions to be answered...
Companies has to be a main thing of the game (aside the Twelves Path). I think its time for Square Enix to launch Ishgard and new places in Eorzea and, also, time to create new events like Battleing the Empire or something like that...

We were also supposed to get Hamlet Defense. It sounded similar to Campaign from FFXI and would be a much needed and appreciated addition to the game play. Even more so if it was another alternative to getting SP/XP. Right now the companies sound like they have changed from a guild thing into a WoW-esque Faction thing ever since Yoshi-P took over. We need more info to know for sure.
