That's a matter of opinion and preference. I rather liked the Blessed Tools, it was a lengthy but fairly relaxed grind you could do over time while selling the items. Not many people got the tools while current so they had rarity and it gave some purpose to obscure recipes and having a decent stockpile of mats.

Obviously they're not everyone's cup of tea, so it's understandable if some found it "obnoxious". But the relic should have been the fix to that, involving up to date crafts and Experts for those who preferred that route over the Blessed Tools. Instead they scrapped that system and both tools involve Experts, which is sort of a shame.

Yep, I found having to craft one of everything a lot less obnoxious than the RNG in Expert Recipes. They had a decent idea there with the new conditions, but they make it far too dependent on RNG. When you go 33 steps without a single Pliant, there's something wrong with their metrics. Whereas crafting one of everything is a lot of time material gathering but it feels much more rewarding for me since I'm actively working the entire time, rather than just getting lucky with RNGesus.

I think the Resplendent tools might be intended as the crafting equivalent to the Ultimate weapons (you've got to know what you're doing to get them), while the relic tools are the equivalent to the relic weapons (everyone willing to grind can get them). We'll know better once we get to see the new recipes and turn in requirements.

They seem to be trying to figure out what "hardcore" crafters want for end game crafting rewards. The Skyward Point titles and Pteranodon mount didn't gain much favor as rewards. "Shiny tools" was one of the suggestions in the threads made last year on the subject so now they're trying shiny tools to see what reaction they get in practice. I'm not into shiny tools myself so I'm not feeling motivated by their addition (though I am still working toward the mount) but others likely will be.

I'm really starting to think positional effects on attacks are getting canned in 6.0.

Nevermind. I just read DRG's notes and it's positional bonuses are being buffed. Instead this is just them pleading with players to use MNK.
