People that say this game is too easy

I am honestly loling at people saying anything in WoW is hard compared to this game.

Here's a hint: it's not. Hell, in Legion I was doing Mythic dungeons on three classes, balance druid, ret paladin, and shadow priest. Never had any problems whatsoever. By contrast, I'm not even thinking about doing Savage or Extreme in this game. I would die repeatedly and end up being a burden to the healers and thus, the whole group.

The issue with FFXIV isn't the difficulty but the lack of variation in the game's design.

Compare 2.X dungeons, with heavensward/stormblood and shadowbringers dungeons, and you ll notice there aren't much differences between dungeon mechanics from heavensward and onward (while 2.X dungeons were distincts). level 80 dungeons could have been level 70 or even 60 dungeons.

ESO is much harder than FFXIV. At least in FFXIV you have gear requirements when queuing up so even if you do get bad players, they have somewhat decent gear.

FFXIV is not hard. But at the same time its not exactly a walk in the park. Its a nice middle ground that also has its much more difficult content like Ultimates which not too many other MMOs have content as such.

It continues to entertain me that
1.) people think that because THEY find something easy - such as memorising 3x 100 boss fights perfectly - everyone else does too, and people who don't find it easy are just lazy pieces of rubbish.
2.) people don't seem to realise that if you have a natural apitude for something - your spatial awareness for example - then you are bound to improve in any activity that requires good spatial awareness and thus, after a period of time, that activity WILL seem easy. Whereas people who don't have the same natural aptitude will always struggle.

I am really good at knitting, and I love it. And it's easy. I've tried to teach my youngest daughter to knit many times. She just doesn't get it. She can't grasp what she's supposed to do, and she gets angry and frustrated. Me telling her it's easy simply makes her mad at me because it's absolutely not easy for her. I am sure that all of you have skills that you ace, no trouble, but I'm also sure you have things you're bad at. Possibly things you just can't get your head around no matter what you do. So please try and remember that okay?

I used to play everquest. Compared to that this game is pretty easy.

^ I had no spatial awareness coming from WoW, going into FF14 back in 2013. I got hit by soooo many AoEs. Now, I don’t find it much of a problem, but that’s after I have spent what, 7 years in this game? I remember when I would struggle with learning bosses too, it’s really all about practice, imho

If Normal is too easy for you, there are Ex, Savage and Ultimate versions. If Ex, Savage and Ultimate are too hard for you, there is Normal version. So, IMO, here are the three real possible problems with difficulties in this game:

1. Normal is too hard for you: Honestly, I don’t know what to say. Maybe you are more a FPS player.
2. Ex, Savage and Ultimate are too easy for you: Maybe you are a robot. Try playing with just one of your foot.
3. Normal is too easy, but the Ex, Savage and Ultimate are too hard: I don’t know what to say. Try another role on Normal, maybe it’s going to be a bit harder for you.

There are 18 millions users and I’m pretty sure the players in case 1, 2 or 3 are a minority (maybe there is a bit more people in case 3), so I don’t think SE will change anything soon about the difficulty of the game.

Or, if something is too hard for you, keep going at it. You’ll improve and eventually beat it :)

When zones became lifeless and no real danger presented itself i already knew what direction design was going but with 18 million you cant tell em nothing so...../shrug

Why is that an issue? It doesn't make sense for anything to continue being hard once you've "mastered" the fight.
