Local Levees - The Bastard Stepchild of FFXIV

The system does seem improved since the last patch, or maybe before then and i just didn't notice. Now i generally have more leves available per rank, i think because now if one leve is available for a certain rank that has other ranks it can appear in, it appears in all of them. However, i've still only seen one lvl 35 ALC leve in the entire game (maybe 2). Even in the cities that house the guild, leve availability can be horrible.

I also get very annoyed when BSM leves in Gridania force me to go to Limsa for guild support.

The way I see it the changes they have been making are each a logical progression from each other. Each patch released is moving us in the correct direction and doing so in a much more controlled and sustainable way than if they performed them en mass in one patch. When you add it the fact that each patch must contain changes to other systems in the game in order to keep as many people happy as possible it makes sense why this is happening one step at a time for each system within the game.

I agree with you about the lack of quests available at various levels. Carpenter was a painful crawl 40 - 50 with leve, goldsmithing was bad 35 - 40 if I am remembering correctly. I've leveled 6/8 crafts to 50 across three characters using only leve to do so, and I know just how lacking the levequest can be.

In addition when they announced the new recipes coming in 1.19 I was excited because I had just finished leatherworker to 50, and most of the leather leve required weaver leveled in addition to leather. My weaver is level 7, and some of the leve required it at 35. A substantial number of the levequests I was being offered were impossible to complete because of that unless I stopped leveling leather and got weaver to 35. I thought the new recipes were fixing that in 1.19, and when the patch arrived despite the inclusion of new recipes the leve still used the dated ones. It's really frustrating to have a chunk of that time be wasted on stuff that doesn't work right or be forced you spend 4 weeks leveling something you aren't into leveling to make it work. Even though leather was done I couldn't believe they hadn't corrected something that broken when they had the chance.

If they had put forward what Rukkirii put in her post when they announced the new recipes slated for 1.19 I would have been ok with knowing a later update would fix the problem. I could have accepted it and looked forward to the fix in a future patch. They didn't and I foolishly got my hopes up, so my bad I guess.

Perhaps some promising information from the 26th Letter from the Producer:

Local levequest revisions

• Change to suitable recipes
• Revision of leve objectives (May be postponed to 1.22a due to text volume.)
• Revision of reward system

Doesn't say they are going to add new ones though, hopefully they do though.

Aye, one sentence teasers leave a lot of room for interpretation. It's my hope that the "revisions to objects" translates to them somehow making leves more level appropriate.

Time will tell.

Or even regular Fleece for that matter. Internet says it drops from Wild Ewes but for the life of me I can't find any of the darn things.

Nonetheless, I'm excited. Karakul Fleece would rock. Spending an hour all out farming for 30 NQ and 6 HQ is an okay rate for making items to sell but not at all for leveling.

I'll be happy if they just take out the leve recipes that require Guild Facilities and subcrafts.

Hopefully that means leve will be added to the crafts that have a shortage at certain level ranges. It would be nice to have that clarified though. Does anyone want to shine the Morbol signal into the sky?
