nillin, from the looks of things you seem to be having a wildly different issue than the rest of us, our issue is that upon pressing play with dx11 we immediately get an error message about dx11 extensions and stuff and then get kicked- yours seems to be rather different, though it may be in the same vein and somehow related to the display setting changes
Game is launching with DX9, but fail to launch with DX11
My windows 10 is up to date, and nvidia drivers also.

oh yeah, i should also mention that, while i usually play in fullscreen mode personally, the game, when booted in dx9 seems to have that option completely bugged, so i can only then play in windowed or borderless

I'm now almost fully convinced that this is some weird compatibility issue between the change in settings for the game itself not exactly working with the way certain people had their games previously... it just seems likely

Welp, turns out the reinstalling of the base game only took 5 minutes, but now Steam says the download paused at 8.5/8.5gb and that 'File Content Locked'. It tells me nothing, gives me no option to fix it. All it's letting me do is uninstall lmao. This is a cool start to my weekend.

yeah, no ideas there. sounds like somethings extremely wonky with your ff rn... perhaps try deleting the entirety of your ff folder down in your steam library? it might help to get a full, fresh installation going.
if nothing changes after you go through that try starting a new thread- this seems like a very big issue and others might have it, so better to lay it all out there rather than jumbled throughout this thread
