Which pulls back around to my original argument that the gender unlock crowd is not in fact the majority, and as such represent less revenue. They are simply highly vocal about this, while the satisfied players rarely feel the need to speak up.

I dunno. Your average mogstation item seems much more lucrative if you ask me. Even considering the fantasia addicts, won't they most likely continue switching races even without male viera/female hrothgar? Actually, isn't there a chance that the new race clicks so well that some former addicts just stick with the new race?
I think most people outside of the OP realize that the people asking for the genderlocks to be removed aren't the majority. That doesn't mean there isn't a significant number of people requesting that though. Just look at the likes on the threads. You're never going to get the majority to become involved in something like this, but a good enough number of people requesting something can still accomplish things.
The majority didn't care about genderlocked miqote and roegadyn either and look where we are now. People just have to be persistent.
In general, just adding more races gives people more reasons to fantasia. When you add a highly requested race you're going to get lots of people suddenly wanting to fantasia that might not have wanted to originally.
As I stated in multiple other threads that should've all just been one big thread so as to consolidate feedback, it appears as though these 'majority' complaints are mostly from the NA/EU datacenters, and from the amount of back and forth on all threads, all this new thread does is show the dev team exactly how split the NA community is about genderlocks. There is no cohesive 'we', and every genderlock thread seems to have just as many supporters as detractors. So, these threads just show how divided the playerbase is, and how there is no such thing as a 'majority' - especially when you look at how low the number of actual FFXIV players are who visit and frequent the forums.
Then again, while I'm in the NA, I'm Japanese and so have a different cultural view as all of this, much along the lines of what is the societal and cultural norm for most JPN and SEA. While it would be nice to have more options, it simply isn't possible yet given their relatively short time to launch, as Yoshida has mentioned they were already low on time/resources just doing the races they're implementing now. We need to have patience, and accept graciously what we're getting while hoping for more later, instead of demanding things happen right now or 'soon' when doing so would hinder already time and resource strapped developers.
