Petition to reveal Server names before transferring!

Anyway. I don't need to know the names and see the logic behind hiding them. Do what you want, SE, but don't let yourself get bullied by every single whiner in here.

At first I was disappointed/worried about not knowing the server names, but I thought about the over-crowding that could happen to get a certain server name.. I suppose this is for the best.

I just need to know where the RP community is going so I can follow.

I actually don't like many of the current server names.. it would be nice if SE chose all new names for the new worlds. It's going to kind of be like a fresh start after all. Losing friends and making new ones. A new world, why not a new name?

The problem with the fear of overcrowding of popular server names is that it is not avoided by making the server names unknown. Instead of people flocking to certain names, they'll just flock to #1, then #2, and so on. The problem is arguably more likely to occur this way than if names are known. Instead of maybe having an overcrowding issue, now we most certainly will.

I'd much prefer completely new names than risk ending up on a server other than my home.

Then you pick server number X and everyone on besaid picks server number X.

What the hell does it matter what the name of the server is? That's why they're not revealing it- so that you don't have the problem that FFXI had with Odin and Bahamut. Everyone loves Odin so everyone picks Odin. With the names out of the picture, people are going to disperse more evenly, which is largely part of the reason for the merge.

Suck it up and just agree on a number with your friends. This "petition" will not work.

Umm, no. While you will pick the same server as your friends, different clusters of friends are not going to "flock" to the same one. Nobody knows what the other picked (without asking) and "cool" names can't influence people's decisions. This WILL result in a more even dispersal.

If they don't tell us the names, you should stick to worlds 1, 5, 7, or 10 since you want to avoid us (the RP Community is currently set with 9, but nothing's set in stone).
