I understand the logistics for not implementing in-game voice chat. People wouldn't use it anyway.

But the reasons he gives for not wanting to implement it are mostly huge cop-outs. What are we all 14 that we harass girls on the internet? That's a load of crap. That's like saying you never want to fly because planes can crash (yeah like one in a million flights).

Not using voice chat is a pretty stone age idea. Communication is better and it also helps build better relationships than text chat. It's no different than making a call versus texting someone--one is a better way to communicate complex ideas. I'm a big proponent of voice chat and always will be. Really I'm just glad to see the acknowledgement of such a tool come down from up on high since this community has generally been very anti-voip for all the wrong reasons.

Try it out seriously. You'll be surprised how much better your communication will improve in and outside of battle. Those bonds of trust build faster and help your group grow quicker and better.

Built-in voice chat flopped in WoW. There are SO many more important things SE should be focusing on. Leave voice chat to ventrilo and the like.

Stop generalizing.

It's a multi-lingual game. That should be reason enough.

Oh it isn't generalizing in the least bit. I've been a part of the FF-online community since its inception. That's the big picture on it. If you've seen different you haven't been looking very well.

I don't like voice chat... it's very annoying.
I like to play game while open some beautiful songs rather than listening to some rant swearing on voice chat.

Hmm, unlike yourself, they have the mental capability to blacklist folks who act like that. Pretty simple fix, really. Not certain why it escapes you. Secondly, why would they be into such a thing? You assume because you are, that they all are?

How will PS3 users communicate with there link shell Ventrillo/SKype is fine for PC but there inst even a comment about PS3 users which is going to be a huge part of the community next year.

Unless you have broken fingers I'm quite sure you can type perfectly fine on a PS3.
