Let’s go with “Eh..” instead.
bunny suits not for me buuut, I wouldn't mind guys being able to use the striped socks from the valentine female set, but hey if I had my way guys would look a little girly xD
This isn't suggestive male clothing, this is dressing in drag. Not many women are into that. It's more comparable to those guys who really like those absurdly muscular bodybuilder/androgynous women than it is guys who like the bunny suit on women.
Let me put it this way. Who is the most naked male character in the game? Godbert Manderville, who is 100% comic relief. Who probably is one of the most attractive male characters in the game if you asked women? Aymeric, who never shows up in anything than less than full armor. It's not as easy as just flip flopping what guys find attractive on women and say women find that attractive too.
Won't be using but I'm glad people are finally getting it after a looooooong time waiting.
Bonus points for not going to cash shop.
That doesn't make my point any less valid. Even if you were to take away the male bunny outfit, it does not change the fact most male gamers are uncomfortable with the concept of any sort of revealing clothing for male characters. Hell, just a hypothetical suggestion for above-the-knee shorts was considered unnaceptable.
I actually hate how this outfit looks, but I'm going to wear it for at least a month to show my support.
The spring bottom shorts for women tend to be tailored for them, like shorts in general. They tend to be snug and very high up on the thigh. If you try to make them a base, it looks bad on guys because of that. I don't think it's showing skin, because a decent amount of male players do a glamour the same as Ace D. Portgaz from one piece; totally shirtless with at the knee shorts.
I don't think guys mind showing skin. They just don't want to look like women or boys. They also don't want to look ridiculous. Conan is half-naked, but in a way that shows strength and masculinity. Classic Robin from Batman doesn't.
This blog post by Quantic Foundry is really enlightening on what that means in practice. It's a pretty good read, especially in the comments when they break down outlying games. Like Dragon Age is probably responsible for the western RPG percentage for being at 25% over games like Pillars of Eternity.
