Which healer job are you? Why?

Used to play nothing but WHM, but when SB dropped I switched to AST for my healer. I like it a lot more as it just flows better and it doesn't feel as "simple" as WHM. Plus the party wide buffs are always nice to pass out. Makes me feel like i'm contributing more than just heals which is always nice.

I've been a ride or die Scholar ever since 2.0 myself. I love the lore of the class not being a traditional cleric type healer, but rather a military tactician using a variety of spellwork to achieve victory. Not only that but as it's the first instance of a pet based healer I've ever encountered. Although I initially tried to love AST and it's supportive mechanics, I always found myself defaulting back to SCH, and although i do occasionally play WHM when I desire for large numbers, I tend to find it understimulating compared to the constant busy work of SCH.

Even at its lowest point (4.0 launch) I thoroughly enjoyed it and how (in my opinion) less clunky it felt, I even didn't mind the nerf to my aoe damage, seeing as it being dot based means i can still do other things while it ticks away. All the buffs only served to sweeten it and now it's the only healer I want to play anymore.

I started playing almost 3 years ago and my only level cap job was SCH. I never even thought about leveling anything else because I just loved this class. I had no need for it. Then shortly before Stormblood I leveled AST and while I enjoyed it, the card system never clicked with me. It feels too clunky and not fluent enough.
Then everyone complained about the SCH nerfs in Stormblood so I decided to level AST to 70 first. I totally regretted it because whenever I go back to my SCH I am having quite a bit more fun. I am currently in the process of getting hin to 70 (limited time to play) and will probably continue maining him for the rest of my FFXIV play time. It just fits me so well.

WHM for years. I just enjoy it.

Have all three between main and alt characters.
SCH: Job itself is nice, but i have love/relationship with a fairy. Her AI sucks and command lag sometimes gets unbearable.
WHM: Well, its nice and simple, good to try new fights or run dungeons with.
AST: Probably the most liked of all three, both for skillset / buffing theme and prettiest animations. Class to go for 24 ppl content or raiding in farm mode.

SCH.

I've played magic users for as long as I remember. I usually start with DPS ones and enjoy healers after I try them later, but never bother with switching. Thanks to FFXIV job system I finally moved to healing as a main (after starting with BLM). At first I liked WHM the most because he just had the most oomph. I learned to love SCH before SB, but after expansion I went back to WHM because SCH, again, felt like it lacked kick when leveling and during bigger pulls. In the end I switched to SCH yet again because I simply like the hybrid caster style the most (RDM bugged me here for a bit too). WHM is too cleric-like for my taste.
As for AST... too low DPS for me lol

I decided I wanted to be a "healer main" ever since I started healing in ARR. ive always played every healer, and enjoy being able to swap when needed. Ever since AST was announced, I knew it was the job for me. I leveled it right when HW launched and have been in love with it ever since. I like whm when I want an easier time solo healing, but aesthetically I'm not a huge fan. Sch is prob my least favorite because I just hate it's normal "off healer" role. I had to play it for the last Alex raids, and I just hated it lol, because just dpsing and shielding now and then wasn't fun for me. I play it every now and then to mix things up, and so I don't get super rusty with it. Ast will always be my baby. I love it <3

WHM

started XIV as CNJ after playing main healer in my previous game and stayed with it for the last 3 years now. AST is also fun but i like the pure WHM power more, and SCH is just not really my cup of tea.

I always main a healer in any MMO I play. I started off as a SCH at launch and really enjoyed the aesthetics of the class (OMG a fairy! so awesome). I took a few year break came back and leveled up a new SCH. I love the DPS as a SCH I find something so satisfying about spreading my dots. I find the shields great to the point that I feel a bit naked on other classes when I don't have em.

Leveling up an AST now and still a baby. I do also enjoy the visuals of the class and I think it's neat the different sects and how that can switch up the play style. But there is something about SCH I think it will always be my first choice.

I'm a WHM. I may not be able to prevent the damage from going out, barring Benison, but I can make it disappear. AoE damage? K. Cure III. And it's gone! Plus, I love Holy. It's so satisfying.
