I'm actually a bit interested that Y'mhitra thinks Y'shtola should settle down with someone because they're Seekers and I thought, given they're half-sisters, that they came from a pretty typical Seeker clan of one dad and lots of mums. Monogamy isn't supposed to be a thing Miqo'te generally do.

. . . Unless Sharlayan Miqo'te have a tradition of female-female marriages with assistance from handy breeding males or something along those lines?

I cant think of anyone who matches who Lyse is talking about. Erik is the only person I am aware of in game with a deep knowledge of Ala Mhigo's politics and history. Maybe he has a student. They have kind of had a romance thing going in SB.

On the one hand, this would totally fit a "today I learned".

On the other hand, I now recall that I did exactly the same thing before in a previous official story, so apparently I forgot that this was a thing between then and now.

Well, that wasn't what I expected. Hopefully the plot threads are a sign of what's to come in 4.1. I'm still hoping for a story revolving around Hien as well as one focusing on either Varis, Fordola or Yotsuyu.

Beyond the hints of pairings and romance, this particular story also seems to suggest that a fair amount of time (within the Stormblood bubble) has passed. I would hazard at least a month, if not three? Enough time at least for the situation to settle sufficiently for everyone to meet and catch up.

I did enjoy reading this but at the same time I really hope that we would have stuff like that ingame because it would greatly flesh out our comrades. One can hope that going to the meeting will be part of the next patch as a nice way to let us rest a bit. Still people that will not know about these stories might never read about the talk the three did before we came in. If this is all just story only, then I would be very sad.

I really hope that the man Lyse mentioned is not our lost prince of Ala Mhigo because that would be way too neat if somehow those two end up together.

Nice to see how Alphinaud thinks about Estinien, and then the small hints about Cirinas crush on Hien (who else could it be) and I did like that Alisaie seems to be more interested about our own life then all the other scions. (Minus Alphinaud)

So even in lore we are a slave to Rowena..(tomestone trauma)

Was not expecting that story. That being said, I still giggled at the gossiping

Now, who is it Y'stola is interested in? Can't be our MIA from Crystal Tower, can it?

Wildergalt, the last surviving member of the Ala Mhigan Royal family, is most definitely not an intellectual and would be a fair be older than Lyse. After all he trained with the MNKs prior to the order being destroyed by the King of Ruin. He would be in his mid thirties at least.


Fun fact I discovered today in the SMN quests: Rowena has the contents of the Tombstones we bring her downloaded and transcribed by the Ironworks.

For this one, the writer and I are on a lot of the same wavelengths. The restless Warrior of Light, Lominsan hangouts, lampshading that we've had lemons, sugar, and honey since 1.0 and have never seen a glass of lemonade (I joke about this a lot).

Though I personally always imagined that Y'shtola and Thancred had a fling that ended badly back in their youth; that they never quite talked it out or got over it and have been in "good friend limbo" ever since. It explains so many of their interactions, lol.(Assuming she's into guys in the first place, of course; she's rather reserved about personal matters.)

And notice that they called it the Rhotano (instead of Rothlyt)! We're off to a good start!

Lyse's new friend was slightly concerning for a moment. About her age, knows a lot of historical truths, has access to old documents, distant... At least she seems confident that he was in the Resistance for some time; hopefully just smitten, after all. And though I understand speculation about Widargelt, he's a bit ... simple. A good monk, but a simple man. Giving context to historical political nuance and mining up old paperwork?

Still, impressive how many popular OTPs were shipwrecked in one post, lol

I think they do things like this because the development cycle of XIV makes it difficult to drift too far off the set story path and more often then not the aftermath patches seem to have to stay on point in order to get things done in a reasonable amount of time. Believe me I wish we could have more scenes like this but I think that's probably the reason we don't see much of it.
