PVP changes from livestream.

PvP will become 2D 8bit 1v1 Auto Attack simulator. Just to get those 3% nostalgy players try it. Just wait.. Was already uninstalling game, until remember I pre-ordered Storm Blood... I honestly don't know what I have left in this game. I don't follow story, I don't like crafting, gathering is fine for PvP queue, I don't enjoy dungeons, Trials or Raids (everything repeats themselves and feels so casual and easy). Well.. There is Triple Triad, but.. just to pay to play only Triple Triad with 8 retainers? No ty.

*insert rage comment here* PVP has seen a major decline since Seal Rock. I thank all that weren't willing to remain in your PVE lane. That think hitting ice is a good idea. Ice doesn't hit back, go finding a training dummy in that case. For those of us that worked to gain rank, earned our PVP gear, or can actually play our class what is the point? Why should we be balanced. I shouldn't be able to put in half the time and have max ilvl. How much time did you put in to deserve what we worked for? We have now been reduced to the complaints of a community that couldn't keep up in "OUR" crucible. #RIPPVP

Now I'm really looking forward for PvP. Sorry hardcores, but PvP won't die, but flourish now.

This is like every change they have made to pvp. They continue to try and lure in people who obviously have no interest in pvp while shunning the people who do. Imagine how much more exciting feast would be if pvp gear actually mattered and we could still chat. Frontlines isn't perfect, but it is a lot of fun and modes like seal rock actually reward skill and teamwork. Now it's just gonna be a zerg rush spamming 1 1 1 while noone dies because any ability to dynamically react is gone.

Before passing judgment i'd like to try how it plays out, was a bit concerned to be honest but someone translated the drg skill set and it's quite different from the pve one.

i pvp a decent amount and i'm very excited for these changes. it's going to result in a skill floor increase, which means all the bad pvpers you all love raging about are going to be more effective. i don't exactly understand what kind of a mindset people need to be in to think that you should be able to play a piano in order to pvp well, but i think the primary skills that pvp should require are spatial awareness, coordination, and teamwork, not the ability to remember a frankly absurd number of hotkey inputs or risk your character being useless.

honestly, i think the only people who are against these changes are people who enjoy destroying the people who are bad at pvp.

This changes definitely has its own advantages and disadvantages, as SE strive to makes in new players friendly.

This new pvp changes although it *might* attract more players to participate in pvp, but they will eventually gets bored of it because the simple playstyle as they play longer same goes to every other games.

In moba games such as DoTA, "Invoker" and "Meepo" comes to mind where they are one of the few most complex character and most fun to play as, not to mention the inventory item usage with extra 6 button to click and courier/summons (micro) to control. Even though League of legend is not as complex as DoTA but they have combo with the summoner spells "Flash" doing flashy plays.

FFXIV was very enjoyable to play because of dem "flashy" limit break, maps, and others i forgot, but the new pvp changes removed one of the few charm about the current pvp such as complexity and awareness of the games just to accommodate new players.

Personally I favor complex gameplay and critical thinking, but was disappointed with the 4.0 pvp changes as most of the JP pvp community feels the same about it.

I don't think new changes will increase win rate of casual players. Hardcores won before, hardcores will continue to win. They'll still dominate new PvP.

We don't know all the specific PVP skills for each job. I guess we'll still have Sleeps, stunns, binds etc...

This new pvp will close the gap between new players and pro players, but I think the skill management didn't change.

We still will have to save Stun on specific situations, move when needed, switch focus, prioritize damage, know when to sleep, bind, silence etc... None of that didn't change. They just made DPS rotation easier, but the basic pvp mechanics didn't change at all and skilled players will still make a difference over casuals.

Just chill until we know all job skills, we need more information!
