Do you know how many people play ff11 on ps2? its so small SE have even considered dropping it due to limitations, the forums beg for it, they put out a poll on playonline, its tiny. Xbox is also tiny, thats partly why SE cant do another deal, because its not worthwhile.

Xbox and PS3 audience is smaller than PC for MMOs because there is very few MMOs on consoles, its audience very unlikely want an MMO as they play SP/Multiplayer games. They dont plan on paying monthly on top of it. Even DC universe has much bigger audience on PC than it does on PS3 and only gained PS3 players lately because it became free, which SE dont plan on doing right now.

If you just think about it with common sense, most people who play MMO will have a PC for it.

Your first paragraph is void the fact is lots of people could not get the recommended specs for ff14 last year.
V2 is not out yet so that means more people are waitng for ps3.

So again common sense says your wrong.

I agree with Picard...not about billing...IMO billing is just part of the game and subscription fee is still way healthier to the game than a cash shop...so i do support an eventual subscription fee...but the thing is that it's not the time to start billing. It's completely unreasonable charging people for a "beta test".

I agree that billing now + the other MMOs about to be released will have some disastrous impact to FFXIV. They should've just wait and see for now...let people try out these jobs...actually see the game Yoshida is offering. It's terribly annoying SE giving us a gift boxbut saying "Here...you can play with it...but DON'T open the box until you pay"...makes no sense we having to pay for it before actually knowing what we will be paying for.

IMO, if they want charging, the best would be reviving the original FFXIV as a different game and charging half for each...and since FFXI has full price then those who are paying FFXI could pick one of the "FFXIVs" and have it free of charge...this would also stimulate those playing FFXI to give a try to original FFXIV, 2.0 or, sometimes, even both.

If you already spend more than 8-12 hours a week on this game and can't afford 12.99 a month then I think there are other issues at hand. Blah Blah its the principle, well 12.99 a month seems very reasonable for a game that was made leaps and bounds over it's original release not to mention the what we can expect in the future. If you don't think its worth it then by all means don't pay and please uninstall the game.

The game subscription is not going to be 12.99 per month. It was confirmed to be discounted by Wada in the end of the last live letter.

Half price for a half redeveloped vision maybe? That is fair, honestly. Also, no one is holding a gun to your head to pay for the game. You have every right to stop til you're interested again.
