Well since this is a pay to play game, I think it's safe to assume that most people are playing on something mid range that can handle this. I can't imagine too many people paying every month for a game their system can't handle. Also I really think people are forgetting that gaming pcs don't cost as much as they used to.

You can get a $600 rig with used parts that's better than a ps4 and when the ps4 came out it was around 300-400 anyway. Save up for a bit more and get a pc.

I hope they release the actual System Requirements for Windows soon, so I can see if I need to upgrade my PC and what I need to upgrade it with... >w>()

I quit my sub and look for an other MMO if they still dont bring at least screensize option for the so called next gen console PS4 for our game!

If 40-50 percent of the game's players were playing on PS3, they would not be dropping it - would not be cutting off at least 35% (assuming some upgraded) of the revenue stream from the game. They're killing of the low tier pcs as well. Yoshi even mentioned why support computers whos parts aren't even possible to buy anymore. PS3 limitations are majorly caused by the lack of ram, which in turn lead to the difficulty of implementing TP bars and other UI elements. The improvement to buff UI that they were talking about that helped visibility of important buffs like BotD would probably not be possible due to the restricted PS3 memory. Is it a major changer? Probably not but there's a lot of QoL fixes that can now be implemented. And the reason that people don't talk about wanting to remove low-end computers is because even with the minimum requirements if they wanted they could just add it anyways as the minimum requirements are mostly recommendations.

I don't get why people are so happy about this. They did this with FFXI when they dropped the Xbox360 and PS2. It was more of a console server issue. In other words, the game was not visually enhanced in any way, what so ever. It was merely just to help with a server issue. And surprise, there is mention of increased server capacity shortly after 4.0. Don't expect to have brand new amazing character visuals everyone is clamoring for.

If you have Core 2 Duo class CPU, it's time to upgrade.

First generation Core i3/i5/i7, and you should be good.

I don't recall which instruction sets got added with Core iX, so can't compare with AMD offerings.

Also, if you don't have a DX11 class graphics card, it's time to upgrade that as well.

While it's possible they keep 32bit/DX9 client around, better go for an upgrade to 64bit/DX11.
