Kay, you enjoy paying 18 dollars for the dress and then glam it after a month. Oh, a race argument? I love KOS-MOS too but she isn't a cat so you failed in your "beauty" department :P
And nah, Elves trump miqote in beauty and elegance.

I see why they would charge higher prices for the Chinese and Korean markets, as FFXIV is performing below expectations in that market as it's being dominated by giants such as LoL and Overwatch leaving little to no room for MMORPGs. Even one of the largest MMORPGs in the West, WoW, holds a measly 2% active users in SK from their total users with FFXIV holding 0.32%. I'm surprised FFXIV is even running in Korea, I don't have any numbers on the Chinese version but SE did say they it was under performing. This isn't directed at Kosmos, but comparing it to a version that needs the extra revenue to survive to an MMORPG that's the 2nd/3rd most popular MMORPG in the West is a little different. :p
I don't see promotional items releasing 3 months after the promotion as people would wait it out, but 1-2 years seems fine to me. I feel we got promotions because it would be unfair for Japanese players if were able to to outright buy it, though every promotion apart from the North America was substantially worse. I'd prefer we didn't get any more promotional items until they sorted out something with a major business in each region the game is available for sale (not sure why they couldn't do Amazon for every region it's available).
If each optional outfit took 6 months in the making I would at least expect the best graphical quality out of it but that's not possible, because we can still find PS2 textures in-game besides the horrible stiffness on the clothes!...
That being said I believe SE is charging too much for optional items inside an old looking game!...
Remake FFXIV once again and give me a 4K experience with everything it deserves (as in beautiful character models with lush physics) and then SE might justify those ridiculous prices on the Mog Shop!... :p
I agree with all of this, though perhaps only a year delay, so long as it's clear to all that the item will appear eventually.
TBH, I think SE needs to approach Amazon about being an International partner for promotions. So that for any of their games, when a promotion is needed that covers markets where SE cannot have direct promotional partners, they can fall back on Amazon. Steam and PSN world work well also. Almost anything would be better than what the UK and Europe have been suffering.
Oh, regarding the point on cost, I agree that direct comparisons are difficult because the market conditions and business models are very different in China. That said, it's definitely true to say that this item is an expensive one..
Indeed there are, but I did not wish to suggest that you would wear a dress. I do think though that in response to Zigbar, I think that catboys will easily out do the Roebros...
3 things. 1) Kosmos is inspired by KOS-MOS, she is not KOS-MOS. 2) KOS-MOS liked cats. 3) My Kos looks quite like the KOS-MOS from Xenosaga Episode 3, and she is/was a truly beautiful character.
But...you're not an Elf, you're Elezen. Just to keep this lighthearted, I'd like to point out that your males are humorless drones plodding about the place with a perpetual scowl. :P
The body physics are too stiff (same with the FemRoe). The shoulders move like they're linked by a steel bar and, while I'm glad they have good posture, given the odd scale of legs to torso it ends up looking goofy when running. The odd scale and physics are what keep me from playing an elezen for very long (I fantasia a lot).
Re-making the whole game in 4K is not feasible at this point. I've spent enough time working with texture artists to understand just how much time and money such an undertaking would cost. So unless you feel like giving Square Enix a massive cheque to fund the whole thing, most I would expect is an "enhanced" texture pack at some point down the line, if even that.
Besides, the more likely reason the textures are how they are is to keep system requirements as low as possible to keep the game accessible to a much more wider array of computers.
As far as the cash shop outfits, the thing that takes the most time on the models is that fact that it has to be modified potentially 12 times to accommodate the 6 races and the two genders of each. Have you seen how drastically different most chest pieces work on male vs female Roegadyns?
