They actually added it to Final Fantasy XI. Unfortunatelly all 12 XI mounts except Fenrir didn't made it into XIV.

damn that thing looks disgusting. what i always wanted in ARR was the tombery king as a mount where u sit on his crown or in the lantern
Tentacle mount that gains 3x speed in the vicinity of seifuku and bikini glams.
Okay, would you like to discuss how carnivorous plants act to trap their prey based on external stimuli? The main point of my post was how central nervous systems (which the brain is a part of) aren't necessary for movement, so trying to use some pseudo-science (incorrectly) to justify a control device that justifies the mount was silly. I'm not arguing against a morbol mount (we have a spinning flying turtle, all bets are off), I was just pointing out a small error.
Morbols detect by sound and respond for a reason.
hmm ok, its true that i have actually no idea what im talking about =) and i first was like: nah ok lets not have that discussion, but now after i have thought about it for a day im very much interested where it would end up.
I still dont feel like im ultra wrong with what i wrote. If tentacle A doesnt know what tentacle B, C and D is doing there cant be any coordinated movement.
Tbh, i just want a morbol, bad breath animation, I'm happy.
=( looks like there arent many ppl who realy want to ride a morbol. It would make such a great mount
flying carpet mount would be nice. Don't even want see a morbol mount there so creepy looking.
