Why is "It's something to do" apparently a valid defense?

Its not just "one patch". This is several months in on content that many are not interested in doing, which was already showing its age even before 3.15. The minute the msq was done, we were back in idyllshire, doing the same things we were doing for tomes and turn ins. The relic was the breaking point for a lot of people when they saw that it was the same damn thing for a pittance of a reward.

That doesn't give people an automatic right to be rude and insulting to players who enjoy it.

@Adormus, I am not defending SE. I have made threads about certain aspects of the game I'm not happy with. Stop jumping to the conclusion that I'm defending them because I happen to be content with the game.

Right now you are basically trying to force your opinion on me because you are not happy. I am allowed to enjoy the game without being a 'FF fan', 'white knight' or trying to defend SE'.

I have a lot of spare time. I play FF for fun and if I wasn't enjoying myself I wouldn't play it. I don't need to justify myself to you because you have a problem with the game. Accept that people are happy with the patch, have you own opinion, and move on without jumping down people's throat.

I'll throw this right back at you, as you shouldn't have any right to insult or invalidate someone elses opinion just cause they don't agree with you. You have no right to insult people not enjoying the game, and who are giving their arguments as to why. Or are you somehow a special snowflake and the rules you keep spouting somehow doesn't aply to you yourself?

Like, we all know relic is also there to give a boost to content that isn't popular (anymore) or to help queues for things that are sort of necessary but taking really long for newer/less regular players. Relic didn't really achieve anything in that aspect.

This is exactly my line of thinking. There is no need to grind so much of content people are already running anyway, Alex:N, but should have focused on stuff people really don't much of like CT, Coil, EX, Treasure Maps, Old Hunts. Could have even tossed MGP and PvP into the mix.

Except the only time I have been rude is when someone has directly been rude to myself or tried to tell me my opinion is wrong. Sorry, but im not going to play best buddies with someone talking to me like crap. Again, have a nice day, and please try to enjoy the game guys.

Honestly, out of all the things, that is the part that annoys me the most. From a scrubby designer's point of view, relic quest was never really about the player's reward, but about the player's interaction with the content (as is most stuff), especially with old and unused content. That was pretty much the beauty of the old relic past 2.0, liven up the world and the content that needed living up. And they completely missed it.

Scrubbing garbage cans is something to do too - probably more fun than the anima quest - and you don't have to pay for the privilege + exercise!

If people really, and truly valued their free time, no one would be wasting it on video games at all. People would use that time to truly better themselves as people in their everyday lives. Please do not speak as though you are much better, as we all play this game and in that sense, we are all wasting our time.


As for everyone else, there is no amount of content that they can add that will not get stale after 1 month of being accessible. Point. Blank. Period. Hell, things get stale after you still do things after the first 10 times, I don't see how people think adding all new content to grind makes it that much better, at most it buys you a week of content feeling new before people start calling it old.

That is how fast people burn what is put out, example, Thordan Ex. If it's not beaten within a month, people cry that it's to hard and that it's time/gear gated.

If people are bored/upset, unsubscribe and go do something else. I've taken probably 9-11 months off of the game during my entire time of playing XIV, don't see why others can't do the same.
