The Relic Knuckles fiasco is a better example of something that could have been avoided with better testing and a delayed patch. If you don't know what the relic knuckles fiasco was, a long time ago in FFXI you got full TP for each hit of a multi-hit WS. On a 75 MNK, Relic Knuckles were at least a 34 damage weapon(@276 h2h) with a 1299 delay, Spharai are a 56 dmg weapon(@276 h2h). 1299 delay is enough to get over 20TP a hit. Asuran Fists is an 8hit WS. Do the math.

You guys need to stop bitching that the Game is behind. Everyone here knows that. That is the reason why the game is F2P, That is the reason why we are getting one big patch after another. They are actually fixing the game.. they wont charge until the game is what they want it to be. It doesnt really matter what happend at the Release.. it does matter that they are working their asses off to get it fixed as fast as possible, but also without rushing it to much.

So some of you really needs to stop acting like a 5 years old kid.

You guys have been playing FFXIV to long your expectations are really low now. That video was ok at best. If you think this fight or even this fight and 5 more similar are going to make this game a hit and purchase worthy for PS3 I think you will be sadly mistaken.

We're praising the video for bringing an awesome fight and more Final Fantasy into the game, not for it reshaping the game into a completed MMO... duuuuh

i'll be happy when they say "were finally done with FFXIV !!!" maybe sept 2012 or 2013 lol

September 30th was just an approximate date. He even said that it might be delayed a few days (and it WAS only delayed a few days), so technically his estimated release was still dead on.

I wasn't irked so much by him giving an aproximate date as I was by the fact that they couldn't get a good sized, comeplaythisgamecauseitsawsomenow style patch in before the year mark. It just seemed like something that would have set a good example to show the troops hanging in there that the team put in charge is getting it done. Nothing we can do now but wait to see the fruits of their labor come friday when they hand out patch notes.

I really hope they can get the action memory system done by the patch release.
