I'm not even going to bother tanking 24x raids in 3.0

To be honest, Donjos rules seem geared towards doing the bare minimum of the tanking job. They don't allow for becoming anything more than a tank that is "capable " not great. One of those tanks you can rely on for a standard run, but never pushing anything. Her inflexibility is borderline trolling it seems as well. There is no reasoning behind it other than I lack the creativity to do more.

Tbh, the tread itself is a valid argument for slaying accessories. If on of the tanks is speced more into str. The others wont be able to steal hate and spin the boss around, killing the team. Therefore Slaying acc are a safer route than vit. She seems to admit that holding hate is the tanks main job, but denies that str has anything to do with it.

Also, lol at penta melded acc being "immediately" avalible. The closest those are to immediate is for gil buyers and top shelf crafers. Any one else has to put more than a little work in. My ones that are just maxed on str/vit cost 2-3 million each without paying MB prices.

Pentamelded accessories were available the day they came out if you were properly prepared for them to (it wasn't really a mystery to predict when they would come out). The gil required obtain them can be easily made even without being a gil buyer or top shelf crafter. However if all you do is go online to do some CT-WoD, 4 mans, and then play A Chat Room Reborn, I can see how you could be led to this train of thought. If you'd like, I can direct you to some guides that show you how to make gil with minimal effort.

Lol, intersting, and smugly put interpetation. I am well aware of how to make gil. I may not have any crafting on this character, but it is not my only character. Still, 10-15 million is not a quick task. And as you pointied out so nicely, they were indeed avalible the first day they were available, admittedly costing a minimum of five million each on my server. So by the time you had them, and penta melded first day, unless you crafted them yourself , you were looking at around 35+ million. Hardly easy for anyone.

In the course of these posts, I have logically explained the differences between two playstyles of Tanking: the kind that focuses on Tanking before Damage and the kind that focuses on Damage before Tanking. I have acknowledged that both exist. I have acknowledged that both are capable of being successful. And, while I dislike the Barbarian playstyle I have described, I tolerate its existence. I suppose the last straw here is that I intend to go into Heavensward remaining a Tank even though it seems pretty clear that people like you won: SE appears to be giving Tanks significantly more damage potential in the expansion. All I can hope is that they tweak stats in such a way that we can pursue a balanced approach between damage and mitigation without crafted gear being explicitly necessary to do so.

This is quite the opposite of a narrow mind. It is no surprise that you used it incorrectly, though. You are the one running around acting like the Barbarian is the only kind of "Tank" that anyone should be. In attempting to insult me, you have actually described yourself. But that's okay. We're playing an MMO that allows for countless ways to emerge victorious over any encounter.

With that, I shall bid this discussion adieu before I get too pissed off at all of these people who can't understand words and sentences and keep putting things in my mouth that I never even remotely suggested. Before I sign off, though... a couple of more civilized responses.

By "immediately" available, I mean that they're either in your inventory right now or you have the resources available to put them together right now.

Nope. Nope. Nope. First thing you should ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check is your healer's weapon. That alone will largely say how much they can or cannot heal you for. Hp largely comes from left side gear, which only gives MND. While MND is a important stat, if they don't have their weapon up to date, their effectiveness on healing is going to be shot pending on the ilevel of said weapon [really the base weapon damage, but you know higher ilevel = higher base damage]. In which case, the non-tanking stance shouldn't be employed, as the cures will not out weigh the damage you're taking and will force your healer to be focused on you. The 2nd part of the no tanking stance is basicly make sure your healer is over curing you or near over curing you with a single cure. Ie: In tank stance you take 800 damage. Without it you take 1k damage. But you're getting cured for 1.4k regardless.

Heh, I've said it before, I'll say it again:

My own DRK will be cringing at the sight of other DRK's charging in just simply trying to whack things with no concern of aggro control, as I watch as the healers and DPS get chewed up... myself being among them.

I imagine the number of bad tanks in general will rise for a little while simply due to the "cool!" factor of DRK... which will then lead to them quickly realizing that the job is a Tank, first and foremost, and ditch it.
