I think most people aren't going to like this suggestion, but in regards to the people that are having issues with lots of mobs/respawning mobs on their gathering nodes, why not invite a friend to come protect you?
Yes, you won't always have a friend around, but maybe save the leves that have hard to reach nodes for when you do and just go then?

People are talking about it being hard to solo leves now? I just did all 4-5 star at Broken Water/Hali as a 42 MRD and it was really easy. Most 5 star mobs are barely over rank 50! That is really easy. With Stingy spikes and Siphon MP, I didn't have to rest or anything.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong though :/ -

First serious post in a while from me, as the amount of lol on this forum is too much for a little trolly like me to resist, but strap yourselves in, cause here goes:
Ok, so people have spent a very long time waiting for 1.18 to come out, and as such, have spent this time cramming up into the 50's, performing repetitive daily leves, grinding on the same monsters, visiting the same zones, and basically trying to justify their boredom, as they have entered a stage that isn't even close to completion. Now that 1.18 has arrived, it has brought with it literally thousands of small changes across the levelling spectrum, the world itself and basically little bits here and there to make things easier.
It has also begun to lay foundations for 1.19.
Now the problem these players have is that they have put alot of work into their characters, and have been given very little in terms of content to play with until 1.19 rolls in, so from their point of view, it is quite underwhelming, and with most classes being shaken from the ground up, especially the healing and threat changes, alot of players are reluctant to relearn it all, and furiously try to keep up with their old ways, and then throw a fit when it doesn't work anymore.
However, for those people who are starting out fresh in FFXIV, there is a huge array of things to do now, and the levelling process itself has become far more fun to do. I haven't played it enough since the patch to comment on everything, but I can see that 1.18 is more like part 1 of a bigger patch, which will culminate in 1.19 and 1.20.
People are very shortsighted when it comes to gaming now, and forget that everything is a learning process. If people were to calm down for a few moments, they would see some very solid stepping stones laid down, guiding us slowly into a better game, one we would be happy to pay monthly for.
The common theme at the moment is to start again, and something I am doing too, mainly because I don't think we will get race changes, and I just hate being a stupid Elezen.
So in closing, be patient people, there is more coming, and what has been added so far is really showing us that they are on the right path, it just might be a slightly longer path than alot of people here think. -

A game with a 5.0ish average rating that has been out a year and is considered one of the worst MMOs on the market, reviewed poorly 100s of times, will have a VERY difficult time making profit. Even if the game improves, people researching the game (and its an MMO so they will), will see low ratings and poor reviews. A commercial can't change the negative press. The only way to pull off a ps3 relaunch will be mouth-to-mouth. And for that to work the game has to impress the majority of players enough to get their friends playing. Right now its no where near that stage, and SE is alienating players (see like 80% of posts on this forum)Quote:

Mages seem to not be happy with the high MP costs of heals. SE isn't going to drop a hotfix to change that. If this is deemed correct and according to their plans, they will most likely put it into 1.19. Same thing with the current state of the dungeon being cluttered with ARC/ARC/ARC/ARC/CON/CON/GLA/GLA formats. How were SE supposed to know before hand that, that would happen? Hell, from what I saw on day one of the patch, you'd be liable to think that ARC class was destroyed by the mighty swing of SE's nerf bat, yet clearly it is not the case. I feel mages will be the same way, but that's purely my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if we see heals get lowered back down some in cost. As for THM being stripped of the AoE heals and CON being changed to healer du jour, the majority of players voted for clear-cut jobs in the player polls. It had to happen sooner or later. We won't see the full extent until the job system is unveiled a bit more.
Lastly, I don't believe SE is alienating it's players. Sure, the patch has gotten knee-jerk anger threads posted, but what game doesn't have that? Look around at other MMO's. If we're going to decide success of an MMO based upon what their general forums looks like, World of Warcraft must have tanked years ago and is surely a marketing disaster, no?
