Community misconceptions in regards to Atma

Improve FATEs, or stop forcing them. They present no challenge. The implementation of the Mirror of the Whorl as an upgrade path to an i100 weapon, while still a strenuous grind, at least presents challenging content that you need to be awake in to do.

but that's what people are saying. if you don't enjoy it don't do it yet.

the relic upgrade will be made easier just like the original relic was. originally it took the hamlets, then speed running dungeons, and then beating the primals. the original hamlets are the same as what the atma farm is now. it was great for some while others hated it. it was just a few patches later when those were completely removed and i expect the atma farm to either be removed like hamlets were or at the very least have the drop rates drastically increased in a patch or so.

at this point with the relic upgrade not being the highest weapon in the game it's something you should only be doing at this point if you find it enjoyable. if you don't then i, personally, would be working on the parts of the game i find more enjoyable and deal with the upgrade later once it's been changed. i enjoyed it and i'm working on my second, but it's not because i was lucky. i spent well over 100 hours getting my 12 atma's and only a few books into the anubis upgrade, but i'm still collecting the atmas for my next.

nobody is saying you don't deserve the anubis weapon upgrade by any stretch. all people are saying is that by going by the past that yoshi has shown himself to add something with major time investments only to loosen them dramatically later on. there are multiple examples already in arr of the same thing. he adds something that only the most skilled/dedicated will get originally and then make it much easier later for those with less time or skill to get later on.

Yes, but if we all stay quiet and not speak about it anymore, who's to say or know if anything will happen to change it later? What I disagree with in these threads is the "shut up dont play then, i actually like punching myself in the face, cause i did it in XI or 1.0, punching yourself in the face rules." The threads exist because there's no word on the topic, or even acknowledgement from community managers or developers. As soon as there's something said from someone that matters that can be referenced and linked to, the number of threads would die out.

I agree with this 100%, if you don't want to do it, then don't. Some people think they need to get every single thing in the game, and there is nothing wrong with that, but just keep in mind that the devs added stuff like this for people that aren't clearing all of coil or farming extreme primals, but as an alternative to that so they can slowly upgrade their weapons over time. Just because you have a good group that can clear turn 9, doesn't mean you have the patience to farm up all your atmas and books, it's different style content for different style players. If it takes you more than two weeks to get this inferior to coil weapon, and that's not cool with you, then don't go after the damn thing, but a lot of people are ok with it because they would rather be working towards something than nothing.

If something is working the way it is supposed to, why do you need someone that matters to tell you it is working the way it is supposed to? I haven't seen a single post from the devs about the diablos fight, how do I know if I am opening doors properly, I mean, I open matching doors, we don't take damage from ruminous omen, but does that mean it's working, or should I stop running lost city until a dev comes on and tells me I am doing it right? They know about atmas and the problems people have with it, they condensed the original, I don't know, 5 or 6 threads into a single one already, but a comment on something like this would most likely need to come from someone like Yoshi, and we all know he is too busy laughing and counting his quarterly bonus provided by all the people that actually fell for it and paid for extra retainers.

no, that i completely agree with. if you disagree with something on either side you SHOULD say something to let them know how you feel. if the original relic, getting darklight originally, getting myth, doing coil, or doing the primals are any indication though then it'll probably be next patch when they add the rest of the upgrade quest or maybe the next patch at latest i'd expect them to change the quest dramatically.

the only reason i actually responded to the op is because it's like the 10th thread about the same topic that they have created. i feel like you should say something on a matter you feel strongly about, but constantly making new threads about a thread you already started instead of posting in that thread just grates my nerves.

i'm not the type of person to say if you don't like it then don't play at all. i'm just saying this patch had so much new stuff that there is plenty of other stuff to work on besides that one quest. don't burn yourself out farming atma's 12 hours a day if you do not enjoy it. do the other content, level the other jobs, work towards the mastery books, and hit a fate every now and then while in the area when one spawns. if you finish everything else before the next patch and the atma quest is all that's left then i can see the issue, but at this point it's not one. at least now the game is no longer a monday only game like it has been for many for quite a while.

I'm not on here much. I'm usually actually playing the game. I poke in at the end of the night after I've done my coil wipes and levi kills.

oh no you are fine. i understand completely where you are coming from. i wouldn't want to move on without my upgrade either and if i didn't like the quest i would say something also. i just think you will be fine as they have already shown they will relieve the stress from the relic quest after it's been out a while because they know people want them. they did it on the original version of the relic weapon quest and i don't see them not changing this one later on either. i was just saying i normally stay out of the atma threads besides to say i like the quest.

i just had to respond to the op because of their posting history. click their name and look at their recent posts. most of them are on atma quest threads that they started.

You do realize, that basically every drop i've ever wanted from a Turn, primal etc whatever, 1.0 -Now I've never actually gotten...or did get, but only once I no longer really needed it.

You accept that range right? The fact that you can Kill Ifrit EX 20 times-50 times heck 100+ times and not get the drop you want....but the person standing next to you got it on their first try...where they died twice....

We accept on BC/Primals/Dungeons etc:
-Item doesn't drop
-Item does drop but someone else gets.
etc.

But this, somehow THIS is unfair, needs changed etc.

It's the SAME thing. And they'll up the drop rates when they're ready to do so. But the only way you are going to get the darn things is to put the time in...like everyone else. Sure, maybe you'll be the unlucky duck who has to grind 100+ FATES in one zone for one atma....but you also might get that Levi Mirror you wanted first kill.

Should I complain then? That you only needed to kill Levi once for the item you wanted, but I had to do it 50 times and still no luck?

So yeah, actually you are in a way, asking for exactly what was quoted above...because if you already had them (or didn't mind the grind), then this would seem a non-issue to you.

I have atma sword with animus shield (just now) and I think this is absurd and properly justified to ask for... got any more random opinions you want to push as facts or you going to rebuttal with more excuses and made up more opinions heavily coated to look factual?

From my experience, vocal minority is always a pointless excuse. If you live in a country with 10 million people, do you expect 6+ million to stand in cities and protest? At best you might get 1.5 million of them in the biggest cities to protest, and at that moment it is just a vocal minority protesting even if the entire country felt the same.

Fact is, there will never be a vocal majority on anything. Unless it is very small of course, like a party of 8 could have a vocal majority speak in favor of leaving a dungeon.

Just wanted to say it since it is so annoying when people attempt to use vocal minority in arguments when it is the same thing as saying "I'm typing text".

At this point with all the "Most" "Majority" "Minory" "My opinion = the community" "If you talk to anyone" comments.

I have no opinion anymore, IDC WTH SE does at this point. However, I am tired of the group of players on this forum that feel they need to make 2+ threads about the same subject. When there are other legitimate threads in this forum beside Atma grinding.

Some advice if you hate Atma farming and RNG, don't bother with fishing then.
