Helping one another is one thing but downing someone and trying to humiliate a player to play better is another.

I dunno about that. Most people (including Yoshi) don't really seem have a problem with the parser itself, and aren't going to go out of their way to shut down the big bad third party program.. but they do have a problem with people stating numbers cause they make people uncomfortable, and those who usually bring up numbers in pugs aren't doing so in a kind manner. Didn't Yoshi say something along the lines of you can use it, but don't let anyone catch you using it and don't bring it up? Honest question there.
Parsers can be useful for healing as well, and tanking. You can pinpoint where most of the damage is occurring and find out if a tank isn't using cooldowns in the most effective manner. Or if a healer is running out of mana, but has a lot of over healing, you can find that out. They are an extremely effective tool, but only when used right.. and most people don't use them right, which has earned them a lot of hate.
I also think part of it is a lot of people don't play a tank or a healer because of all the pressure, and visibility of mistakes. It would make sense people wouldn't want that visibility also being applied to the dps class. That's just my take on it though.
Yeah, I'm familiar with the movie and the term..was just double checking my facts. I read so much stuff sometimes it gets jumbled x.x Thanks for the clarification! (We actually used "Fight Club" to describe products that were still under NDA's when I worked for Amazon).
It's nice to have tools that allow you to figure out what the problems are so you can improve your teams chances of victory. If a DD is doing a lot lower dps than the others and your team is failing to burn Titan's heart, then you know who needs to improve or kick.
Or you *gasp* talk to people and give advice instead of accusing them of "pulling their weight" or "trolling". That's the issue. Losses happen all the time. Normally there is not 1 person to blame. Even if there is, it will be pretty obvious regardless of role, but the way you handle it is the issue. Using a 3rd party tool is cheating, it's been that way since FFXI. Instead of relying on these things, learn the jobs yourself so you can tell if the proper buffs/debuffs/rotation are being used, and talk to your members.
99% it's someone dying. That 1% is where parses hang out. It can happen. But there are multiple reason for a really low parse on a phase. Poping all your CDs for the right or wrong phase for example.
It's no different from healers and tanks. Knowing when to apply vs apply it to everything. Then pushing it by having other members make up for your risks is also part of it.
Popping blood for blood is a good way to parse higher, but healers hold your life in the palm of their hands if you decide that your rotation is more important then their aoe heal rotations is a sign of more then just bad parsing.
I have derped in maybe 1/20 titan ex stomps being slightly late in my pre-cast. but when I do, and someone dies, I see that blood for blood.
This is a perfect example of how to NOT use a parser properly. Titans Heart.
You are taking an overall parse of damage through an entire fight and using it to judge someone for damage on a single burn phase. Are you accounting for the rock jail? Are you considering that they may have been saving dps cooldowns for the heart phase? Or that their cooldowns might have not been available at the beginning of the fight due to when you wiped during the last attempt?
