Well it could still possibly be a Viera type race. When you start the game, you have two different versions of each race to select from. What if she is a Feol Viera?

In another thread regarding potential new races, someone brought up the Gria - a Final Fantasy race of humans with dragon bits, much like Miqo'te are humans with cat bits. Folks there bantered about how that wouldn't be possible since Ishgardians hates them sum dragons so much (how are you supposed to complete the Main Scenario when everyone you talk to in Coerthas tries to stick a sword in you?), while others argued that Ishgardians overcoming those prejudices could make for great story material. While not initially a proponent of the new race being "human with animal bits", the prospect of such a story got me really excited.
Now, we have a figure, cloaked to conceal their race (from Ishgardians and their allies???), with a headpiece that looks as though it could be covering horns (dragon horns???)...
Probably not, but I can dream. :)
It' probably a mixed Elezen race. Their shorter necks cause their ears to grow longer.
I bet it's Viera. As for the ears, I suspect there will be a floppy-ear option, and that they decided to use that option for this particular character because if they used the upright ears it would be too obvious. Maybe they chose the floppy-ears to keep us guessing.
=/
guess its too much to ask for a bad ass race with fire breath and glowing eyes. Oh well, I bet the fluffers will be ecstatic.
Reminds me of:

Maybe it's simply a case where the male ears turn downward to differentiate them from the females.
