I don't quite make the connection. The annoying squeaky toy is jarring and takes a lot of effort to ignore. Guys jumping in place because they happen to be bored are easy to ignore. That's just me, anyways.

(Above post) Kinda does; the people arguing against it are those same types...Take 80% of the people that left and these things including jump was in top 10 of wtf's... That says something. Its an MMO and none of its game braking; matter of fact its pretty standard stuff...I swear half of you act like 60 y.o's swinging their walking sticks at the nearby kids.
One of the biggest jokes about FFXIV is copy pasta and jump...

I want to play a FPS, am I going to demand SE add FPS elements to XIV? Or will I go play a game where it's already present?

.... which we all know isn't true. Of course jump adds to the game just like everything listed above.

Everything you listed was added for terms of convenience. Jumping does not make anything more convenient. It would only satisfy a certain OCD condition related to pressing a jump button repeatedly, or satisfy the people who crossed over from World of Warcraft to trick them into thinking they are still playing the same game.

But its not an fps, its a platform/pc MMO and jumping is standard.

Maybe you should go back to playing ______, if you don't like jumping in FFXIV?

As you see, the above sentence is not a very nice thing to say. You can argue without telling people to f*k off.
