Yoshi P talks about Warriors- from Producer Letter Live @ TGS

Its honestly hard to motivate to continue playing this game hearing about all these things and the statistics. I just want something to be done. I'm not even 40 yet and people in the 30s are telling me leveling this job is pointless as i'm just going to be gimped later.

This Warrior hate is spreading quickly, i'm worried by the time I get there I wont get any group invites.

Could it be the higher DPS is a factor in War being a good tank alternative? If we assume that both classes are able to mitigate enough damage, isn't the higher DPS variant the more optimal? Also we're so early in this version of the game, it's rather bold to assume that anyone is playing his character at the maximum. Paladin, at least, is the much more forgiving choice due to his high mitigation.

Sure, but Warriors mitigation isn't even in the same galaxy as a Paladin's.

As for playing the class to the "maximum," every single ability and stat point has already been broken down, and there's not all that much subtlety to the combat, even for a Warrior. You generate aggro, (and for Warriors manage your stacks, which have been tested extensively to see if there's a more optimal way to utilize them in terms of survivability.) you use your cooldowns when necessary. That's it.

You are missing that storm paths heal has terrible scaling due to being .5x absorb when your damage is already 25% reduced.l by defiance. The heal isn't practical.

If there was another % heal Id put it on holmgang.
Rooted in place and the game memorizes all the damage you take during those 6 seconds and heals you back for it over another 6s.

Storm path should be 150% or 175% absorb. Would gladly throw one out now and again.

Holmgang should have a defensive buff for its duration. It's more often a hindrance than preventing DPS/Healer aggro.

I agree, Holmgang it's a waste of space almost. There's VERY few moments that I can think of it actually being useful. Atleast make it generate Wrath..

I was thinking it would return a % of the damage taken during Holmgang as heals for 6s when Holmgang ends.
Eg if 100%, you take maybe 8k damage in 6s, then you'll be healing 1.3k a second for 6.

Problem is on fights where you need to burst aggro on DPS races, you don't really have time to Storms Path.

Speaking of Holmgang, does that work on bosses?
