Ah, of course, you're right. They wouldn't let someone boost to skip the current expansion! That was silly of me, I should have known better.

That time you're trying to level an alt's GNB, get Bardam's, and get a 90 sage that spams Diagnosis and barely dpses. We wiped to trash twice since spamming the single weakest heal in their kit didn't help at all. Shields? Other ogcds? Here's just a crumb of shielding while I stand here and do nothing and wait to heal you!
Fun times.
Today I learned you can get stuck in the elevator in copperbell mines. You'll eventually fall and drop to 1hp.

Some sprout the other day thought a different player was speedhacking in a low level dungeon because they weren't aware sprint exists.

I've broken my record on Deathgaze Hollow in Dun Scaith. Previously it was seventeen deaths. But today......
Twenty-three people in one shot. Everyone but me fell off.

......So of course, the only logical follow-up was to join the crowd to reset the fight.
Today in Tower at Paradigm's Breach: I was marked by one of those wall-breaking circle AoEs in the Red Girl fight, and it... killed me? Is that what happens if you don't stand next to a wall when it goes off? I couldn't find a spot without standing on top of someone else so I just went off to an outside corner and got one-shotted somehow.
Anyway, my nice co-healer revived me, and I respawned inside of another wall where the white meteor comes down and I couldn't move. And I died again. :(
It happens quite often on dynamis.
The people in levelling dungeons are those trying it out for one day.

Dynamis is really nice if you want the low level chill dungeon experience.
So...back for the event...Get Smileton cause 90 AIN and I was like "Yeah sure quick in and out". Well I was right. It was quick in and out. Get a DRK with mostly 89 gear so ok they picked it up from the MSQ thats great. However they have lvl 80 earrings. Also...NO mitigation. I would know since I'm literally using up all my resources, spamming Cure 2 (Which should NOT happen) and they are still melting. If they even bothered to use TBN it was up and gone in a split second.
I have better things to do so I took the penalty and called it a night.
Forcibly queues up for Breach on an alt ast because I'm so sick of CT.
Pops quickly.
Gets a cohealer whm. Cool. I'm on ast and I'll buff everyone for a quick run.
First boss cohealer dies to stupid often, so does the rest of the party.
Notices cohealer never pops Asylum, PI or even Temperance. If they're using lilies it's not very effective.
Clear first boss, someone immediately pulls the plug on their connection and dc's, another just leaves the instance.
Second boss majority of the party and alliance dies to standing on the bad side for shield bash dash. Because of 1 person missing, I can't lb3.
Clear second boss, can already tell we're going to have a bad time on Red Girl.
Someone shouts in alliance chat 'why can't we have a hard raid like CT?'
Is braindead content hard to you, bruh?
Get to Red Girl, people die to stupid, including my cohealer, often.
I'm doing the best I can as ast but I can't heal stupid plus buff.
Clear Red Girl with lots of deaths, I manage to votekick the offline just in time.
Get to last boss, have only 2 cutsceners.
I warn party about boss mechanics a bit.
Transition happens.
More people die, including my co-healer, often.
I do my best as ast and scrape people off the floor plus mechanics plus buffing.
We finally clear the last boss, I roll on loot and barely get anything from it.
Leaves instance.
1 commendation.
Guess I wasn't good enough as AST.
If they are dying to single pulls with me using every resource to the limit and literally spamming Cure 2...perfect reason. It's not getting done so I left. But hey if you wanna punch a concrete slab till you have stumps for hands then you go for it.
I'm avoiding a hospital visit.

Aurum Vale did the thingy. :O
https://media.tenor.com/dLaMVrptB2YAAAAC/not-hehe.gif
I signed up for Leveling Roulette hoping I might get a lucky Endwalker MSQ run for moogle tomes (long shot, I know). But nope. Aurum Vale.
Had a pretty good run, actually. I forgot that first giant toad won't follow you into the boss room. Watched him give up and turn around, like "Ah, forget it. They don't pay me enough for this."
Had some good luck in roulette on another character later, DF popped and said the group was 11 minutes in progress or something. I thought "Oh no, what am I walking into?" Turns out the healer only queued hoping to get a specific item from the dungeon, and then when they got it they immediately left. What a pathetic loser, they basically just had a couple packs of mobs before the las boss, too. Took no more than a few minutes.
You know, people get so bent out of shape about tanks who don't pull enough, or having to wait for new players to watch a brief cutscene, and they'll say something like "If you're going to do that, use Duty Support or Trusts, don't inconvenience other people." But they don't actually care about the principle of inconveniencing others, they only care about themselves. These are the people that queue for a raid when they know they have to leave for work in 14 minutes, or who intentionally spin a World of Darkness boss around to kill other players, or who chat excessively during every fight or else just leave to talk on their phone, but when it comes time to let newbies have 8 seconds to watch a cutscene suddenly they are very concerned about "inconveniencing people" and can't spare 8 seconds of their precious time.
For the record, I don't mind people who chat a lot in runs, I like it, and I do it too. But don't dawdle around doing zero DPS as you type away at your keyboard babbling, or make multiple failed attempts to "greed" Ancient Flare in Labyrinth of the Ancients, then act like newbies in a cutscene are wasting your time.
Ugh had this happen. Tank didnt get what they wanted and bailed. We waited for a new one, got a mentor who was bright, friendly and a load of fun. He asked what had happened, we told him, he groaned and away we went.Quote:

Fast, smooth run.
As for Aurum Vale...I have a macro that simply states "Yo I want you connected to me by the hip. I'm going to sprint and hug the left wall and Arms Length if I think I'm getting too close to the frogs. I will be running STRAIGHT to the boss room and will LoS the ranged into the melee range once inside boss room. If we wipe I will do it the slow and steady way."
As for today I signed up for Breach. It's funny raids during Moogle event are either chaos or just run smoothly. Today we had a slight hiccup but recovered amazingly. We got half the entire alliance double cleaved and usually that would be so hard to recover from but we we all up and going about 2 minutes later. Run was going so well we decided to play train roulette in which whatever track we pick to stand on...red or no...you stay there. Surprisingly I only died once the three times the trains ran.
After that I got bored and I did Bard Performance for about...2 hours?
Party seems okay, I wonder why on earth I could possibly be filling in for a dps a third of the way in:
https://images2.imgbox.com/af/a8/vhzfhib6_o.png
And yes, they died to every mech as well as managed to die during the pull while the tank had aggro.
Had a run in Prae with a person trying their tanking out, it went great and they did a good job. They were polite and told everyone please tell me what I do wrong so I can correct it. But no one had too, I thanked him at the end and told him he did great and gave him a commendation too. It was kinda nice I felt like this guy will be a great tank. I love getting confident competent tanks. The whole run goes smooth usually. I also feel like tanks sometimes don't get their just rewards so I salute you tanks!
Had a Pala in Dead Ends who only used mit on bosses. Went ok. I often wonder if most tank players just want to be "the main character" / "main dps" and therefore don't bother with mit.
A good mentor? You should play lotto :P
Class players... great.
Guess who went into Aglaia...and forgot to turn the other players spell effects off....:eek:
https://media.tenor.com/7cA15QnSQ1oA...-brightlig.gif
You mean you don't always have others spell effects off, and party ones set to minimum? You brave soul you.
----
Decided to queue up for the 2 90 raids last night, and got Aglaia. Was a very nice quick run. All bosses were downed before they started the "complicated" mechanics(also known as the multiple combined ones). Byregot died very shortly after his first arena change, Rhalgr died right after his second meteor punch, Azeyma died right after the inner triangle knockback thingy, Nald'Thal died right before his 3x jump around.
Had 23-minute Vanaspati run yesterday. Had a DRK and two NINs, with me on SGE.
I should have known things would be miserable from the first pull. 2 NINs with all their cooldowns up should be able to destroy the first pull in 30-40 seconds. It took at least 60. The second pull took even longer of course.
(This would prove to be an extremely consistent phenomenon. Every fight dragged on for 50% longer than it should.)
I saw at least one Doton, and a Hellfrog animation, but I suspect the other DPS wasn't using their AoE attacks. At least the DRK was comparatively decent, double pulling and using some mitigation. So whatever, I did a few GCD heals and popped all of my cooldowns and we got through it.
On to the first boss (the one with mouths on the ground). Again, it took forever. And I got a closer look at why. Turns out the NINs had matching names and one was a Returner. He was probably dragged back into the game by his friend. He clearly didn't know the mechanics, so it probably his first time playing since Endwalker released. I felt a twang of sympathy, mixed with dread.
It was befuddling to watch this NIN. He would bounce around the boss, never keeping uptime for more than 5 seconds. As if it were a Dark Souls boss and he was terrified that it would turn around and slap him across the arena if he didn't dodge away constantly. Luckily the first boss gives lots of time to adjust and he could follow his mate for the mechanics, so there was a minimum of vuln stacks eaten.
On the next pull, the tank earned his singular side-eye for the run. It was the forced single pack with only three mobs. Should be boring right? But I guess three enemies didn't pass the threshold for him to use AoEs... He let me get aggro on two of them for most of that pull. It was weird. But thankfully it didn't happen again.
Second boss went as expected. Naturally, the DPS didn't use the bubbles to avoid the fire DoT. Now, you might be aware that this mechanic is easy to brute force by blowing all your healer cooldowns. Thereby, you can disrespect the mechanic and get more uptime... Unfortunately, this method does not work as smoothly when the fight lasts long enough for the mechanic to happen twice. Because I have no cooldowns after the first one... Since both DPS had 2 vuln stacks and a heavy fire DoT, I had to spam GCDs for 15 seconds straight. Not ideal.
The last boss went equally poorly, with the returner eating almost every vuln stack possible. I managed to keep him alive with shields for most of it, but couldn't keep up during the intermission with all the meteors. And no, they never figured out the color/pattern mechanic + knockback, despite the fight going long enough for it to happen 5 times.
After it was over, of course I had to check my monkey with a calculator. He said I dealt one third of the parties' damage in total. As a healer. Only the "good" Ninja did more damage... and only on two of the fights.
I can't really blame them though. Only the returner was "bad" compared to the low standard I keep for roulettes, and he has an excuse. Just sucks that there were no pumpers in the group to counterbalance the low DPS.
I hope they enjoy their time together in Endwalker. I also hope I never see them again.
I was adjusting some settings and left it on by mistake. I was lucky I could see my feet....Quote:

Tonight while running Prae for the 7th time today on my baby Dancer I encountered a group where the other 3 were all from the same server. They were bantering back and forth during the starting cutscene and I just couldn't figure out what was going on. Then we zoned in and I realized they were friends that had queued together so this was just joking between friends. Got a little farther into the long cutscenes and I started joining in and they included me in the fun. We got to the last boss and the tank asks are we playing tank buster roulette? I asked what that was and they told me the tank turns off his stance and we see who gets hit by the tankbuster first. I said well its up to the healer because shes probably gonna be scraping me off the floor. Everyone laughed. I don't think he actually did it. Got to the end and thanked them for the most fun I had had in Prae in years.
Actually they were from your server. I wish I remembered the names but alas I was playing with a monster headache so not at my best. One was wearing a white chocobo suit with the hat that looks like the ones the chocobo travel point guys wear. Really a fun bunch of people that turned an otherwise very crappy day into a decent one for me. I was not playing on my posting character but was instead on my main V'aren
Got Porta Decumana (Ultima Weapon) for daily main scenario, first phase was business as usual, second phase the other 3 started griefing, tank trying to kill me with the TBs and the "don't stack" attacks, the dps were moving into all the bad and stacking so the tank could kill them with the TB. One of the dps tried to pass it off with a "wtf tank" and "jeez report this guy". I just grimly thought to myself "You thinking you're joking but ALL your asses are getting reported =.=". They were all in the same FC so it was absolutly planned malice, you want to f around with your fc, whatever but DON'T drag randos into your BS.
Can't imagine the absolute look of horror on some poor DPS's face when my healer decided to misclick yoink me on top of them while I had a tb on me.
https://media3.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2...Uvrs/giphy.gif
Saw a healer the other day that must've just discovered the rubberband trick. He kept using yoink to launch people into death walls around the arena. ...Not gonna lie, I'm kinda surprised they haven't fixed that yet.
Yesterday I had an alt get CT yet again on roulette, and noticed the mnk had really low hp. I mean REALLY low. Turns out they had ironworks on the right side but 26 and below on the left. When I pointed it out to them after they got one-shot by a couple aoes, they put on level 30 leather gear...checking them revealed they had multiple crafters at 90, and they said they didn't have time to get gear.
And people wonder why I'm a salty healer.
