SMN - Why it is not a very interesting job and not a good upgrade from ACN

Controlling the summon directly is already feasible via the Obey command.

That's funny because a lot of people were complaining about the look of the Egis since Square provided the artwork for them and I'm sure in game there are a lot of Summoners's still complaining about the look of the Egis. There are only a handful of players that like the appearance of the Egis. The only reason Garuda is used everywhere is because of the way the Egi system was implemented and its because the Egis at their core look and should function as elementals. The Egis should use elemental based attack instead of what they have now and have 8 abilities.

If you actually read my post I was referring to the Summoner's pets not the Summoner itself. I did say that Summoner doesn't have a reliable bursts and aoe compared to a Black Mage specifically Enkindle vs Flare and yes in a perfect situation Summoner does have the highest dps but based on the fights their dps will be lower.

According to the Summoner story line we just learned the resurrected art of the Allagan Summoner and as we learn more we will gain more power. Dwill you are the one that needs to read the Summoner's lore and re watch the Summoner's cut scenes because if you did you'd realize Summoner's don't summon anything they capture the Primal's power and draw out a a portion of the their power using corrupted Aether which are the Egis that we fight to control. Now if the story line advance and we were able to draw out more of the Primal's power we would end up with a Primal.

No one is complaining about the Summoner's damage their damage is fine. People are complaining about the pet which sucks.

Nowhere does it makes any reference to how we will even be remotely close to summoning a Primal itself. The Lore itself does't permits. It requires a tremendous amount of crystal to attempt. But somehow, in your little imaginary world, you think that we will be summoning them via MP while taking a huge dump on the lore itself ? Yeah, that's just not happening.

I stated the Summoner lore from the Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn website and if you paid attention to the Summoner job quest cut scenes you'd realize that the Summoner doesn't summon in the same way the beast tribes using corrupted Aether they draw out a portion of the Primal's power captured in a Aether crystal which is the Egi. Now it is implied in the story line that the Summoner can draw on more of the primal's power as they resurrect more of the lost art of the Allagan Summoner and summon the primals.

Garuda is used for two reasons, none of which you stated: 1) She is ranged and 2) Contagion.

Do you even play this game ?

A handful =/= a lot. The amount of complaints I've ever seen about their looks can be counted on one hand.
