With your idea whats the point of making a story mode if you still need to beat normal mode to accest the next tier?
Asorry cant edit on phone. What garantee you that people wont fail on the story mode too? Or you will ask for a super story mode next?
Keeping both nerfed and un-nerfed versions is a terrible idea. noted. Dunno why, but ok.
You get access to the next story tier with story mode. Beating T5 story would unlock T6 story, but not T6 "regular".
I know personal experience can vary, but I have yet to see a group fail for 90 mins straight in T1-4, T6 or T7. T8 is doable if everyone knows how to deal with ballistic, which can be learned within a few timers, though it's the most problematic turn to PUG now in the nerfed turns (read here, mechanic nerfed, or some people will get mad)
T5 would be doable without the twister's one shot. Best group I've seen so far in DF failed because 4 people died at once so there wasn't enough dps on coral knight. T9 would maybe be doable without meteor stacking and if elementals could stack up to 2 (though that last one may ease it too much)
I feel that without these instant kill mechanics, things are easy enough without being a walk in the park. As I said, the most troublesome nerfed turn now is T8, and only because there is an un-nerfable "do-or-die" mechanic.
Bring everything down to the lowest common denominator because reasons!
Because it still revolves around defeating the purpose of the content. It is a terrible idea. The way they have it set up now works fine. Either beat the content in it's prime, or wait till gear/echo buff/nerfs make it easier for you to overcome. As for T5/9, sorry you have to put in a tad more effort than the other turns for those two.
Not anymore with current design. One could walk directly T5 => T9 => T10
T7 story would be unlocked after T6 story.
going by your words, the current coil defeats its own purpose by being nerfed. I don't know what you're trying to say, by saying two opposite things in two sentences, but whatever suits you. I think we can say we'll disagree.
It works because the content is not in it's prime. Players are moving to the next thing. SE is giving opportunity to people who could not beat it in it's prime without handing it over either, the fights do at least require understanding of the mechanics for the most part. What you are basically asking is that the raid gets dumbed down the same time it gets released. Your idea is terrible because you would give the player the choice of handed to you on a silver platter with no effort or actually doing the raid. Thankfully, SE is at least smart enough to not do this.
Oh the irony... One way to prove that you haven't read :
You know that 2 patches delay between regular and nerfed Coil ? Apply that to regular and story mode as I asked it.
No, I do not want both modes available at the same time. That would be stupid. What I have always asked is that, once the content is no longer in it's prime, it gets released in a nerfed version, keeping the original mode untouched for those who want to do it.
inb4 "but in OP", yeah I know in the OP I originally said every other patch, meaning a shorter delay and content still in its prime. While not stupid, that wasn't realistic. The only thing good about that would have been to finish FCoB in story mode before the extension comes. That was why I used a one-patch delay back then. Don't think that I didn't hear the opposite arguments about content in it's prime though. I did.
Is not that bad of an idea but that time already pass. You cant base a new idea for patch that already passed. You cant implement that now because it would be a big mess and even confusing.
