Met yet another Bard without Wanderer's Minuet on, this time in 60 roulette.

Noticed it during the first boss fight and started telling him to use it afterwards.
He replied with the usual "I don't like to stand still" and I gave my usual "you don't have to stand still, also you are still way more mobile than let's say a BLM" response and expected him to hurl some insults at me (since this is duty finder), but he did not. He said he will try to use it and he did.

Then, for the rest of the dungeon, I proceeded to comment on his gameplay, told him how Quick Nock is better than Wide Volley in 95% of all cases due to the lower TP cost and what cross class skills to use since his Lancer was only on level 8.

Apparently, they didn't mind me giving them advice since I got 2 coms at the end of the dungeon (queued up with a friend).
But seriously, reading this thread really makes me think that people on the Chaos datacenter have a slightly better attitude than most.
I've never gotten a "don't tell me how to play" response yet.

I got one of those earlier for telling a healer they had to stack for sin and punishment in Sophia NM.

Man, that's funny. While I think it's dumb, I can see why someone would reject advice on how to play their job. But, fight mechanics? Those are scripted, man. XD

I've seen it all! Mechanics or job some players just take it as an affront that you could possibly be thinking they don't know something.

Like Ifrit EX in Mentor Roulette (I think I was on BRD or MNK was a little while ago). I had a healer that said "I know already you don't have to explain" after I briefly explained the healer howl mechanic in there. Like he isn't the only healer so yes I am going to explain and nowhere did I single him out and declare he didn't know; all I said was "healers have to do ____".

We start the fight and people are getting rekt by searing wind all over the place from both healers so we end up wiping so I explain the mechanic in more detail (in general towards both healers no name usage just "healers") like he alternates between healers, he turns and spits it at you as an indicator if you might miss the cast bar, watch for the debuff, and make sure you stay to the far right or left sides and away from the party, and you can focus target him to watch for the Infernal Howl cast.

Here comes the long string of comments from the "I know already" healer where they are like "I didn't do it wrong so I don't know why you are saying this I told you already you don't have to explain." and some more defending themselves as not screwing up nonsense that I can't remember...you know, even though we just wiped to the healers killing everyone and they are not the only healer in the fight.

In general we wipe 3 more times to a combination of searing wind and lack of heals so someone hit a vote abandon and I clicked yes because every time I try to help the healers with positioning or say anything at all this one healer would string out defensiveness and I was tired of it :/

Those kind of players make me extremely tired lol like I think that day I stopped doing mentor roulette for the rest of the day after that.

Also most of the time I see someone who says things like "I know already you don't have to explain" is the ones who screw up the mechanic that they apparently already knew.

Not exactly a wipe story but a strange/funny one.

In Aery. TLDR: Because tank lied about being a Japanese player who couldn't speak English, he couldn't understand instructions given to him by us, and repeatedly wiped the party at 1st boss.
How do we know? After the third wipe, he screamed at the party (in perfect English), " I don't understand any Japanese, okay???"
Funny because he listed himself as using a JP client and speaks only JP, AND upon dungeon start, states in auto-translate that he doesn't speak any English.
We finished the dungeon properly after that but eh...... I don't get why he had to lie to begin with.

Shared the encounter with my LS mates and they all went "you just meet a weeaboo." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Been a while since I posted, but this time I was partly to blame.

I just did lvl60 to cap on scriptures for the week, landed in ARF. First of all, I was healing. Tank was a DRK, dps were MNK and a newbie-ish SMN. I was rusty (a friend of mine mains astro for our semi-static so i don't get a lot of opportunity to play healer) and my timing was way off. We actually wiped on the first pull because I thought I could get off my DoT's >_>

Things went smoothly as I managed to adjust, though the tank did die on the first big pull after the 1st boss due to me forgetting about the vulnerability up debuff that pops up and I didn't respond in time. Again, I adjusted and we went on after I apologized again.

Final boss though, the dps both died once due to not avoiding the mass amounts of aoe's >_>

I still walked away with 2 coms. I was like 'wha...?'

Speaking of ARF, I got one in progress for my 60 roulette over the weekend. At first I kind of groaned when I looked at the tank's and dps' gear because it was barely enough to get in there, and the SMN's book was the 120 magitek book.

We still cleared it in approximately the same time a higher geared, synced down party would clear within. I asked at the end why the healer dropped. The tank said he thought he'd been too hard to heal during the first pull because after that (and a wipe) was when they left. I've complained about plenty of tanks not using cooldowns during big pulls and that guy was not one of them - I assured him he'd been doing everything right, and reminded him I'd even been able to dps half the time. I think it was a real confidence booster for him.

Speaking of that, though, I have noticed a persistent trend lately of tanks NOT using cooldowns for huge trash pulls, giving me no room to dps whatsoever, and using them religiously during boss fights that only need light cooldowns. What gives?

I had that happen in Bis EX earlier last week. A new player message popped up, 1 tank said they were new, so I explained the green icon = blue target mechanic. We proceed to wipe to that exact mechanic. So, this time I try explaining in more detail. Afterwards, the other tank said "Yeah, we know how the mechanic works." Wipe again, and again 2 more times, same mechanic, before a vote abandon pops up...Obviously not. The new tank wasn't getting it and did not speak up after their initial notice of being new and the "experienced" tank couldn't seem to tank swap and move away from the inexperienced tank.

Every healers favourite, horrifically undergeared tank... stands in the middle of the mob or faces them towards party and doesn't seem to know what defensive cds are. Dungeon was dusk vigil and he had atleast 2 dps classes at 60 so idk why he thought that was the correct way to tank, like you've done duties before, you must have seen atleast one good tank right?

The cherry on top was the ninja (no classes at 60, no healer classes what so ever) who decided rather than dps he'd spend his time spamming chat telling me how to heal >.>

The only good thing he did was gearing wise he highlight how bad the tanks gear was, but not intentionally, I don't think I've ever been in a duty where a dps and a tank have virtually equal max hp values.

I'm not proud of it but I just ate the penalty and left, you can't fix stupid.

40 or so minutes before reset, I still haven't done level 50 roulette and MSQ roulette. I chose to queue for level 50 roulette as PLD, hoping for a decent party that can maybe get the dungeon done within 20 minutes.

The dungeon? Wanderer's Palace normal.

The party? SCH, BLM, SMN. HELL TO THE YES.

We finished that dungeon in roughly 12 minutes. Peace out.
