Please implement something to teach players how to play

Listen I don't mind debating, but this is common sense and simple logic that has always been the case in every pug group.



Like, I don't mind you don't agree, but none of you have made a good point. I can even accept the selfish reason of wanting players to play better so the content is harder taking away content that I enjoy. At least some of you was honest about that.

Oh wait, it is kind of disrespectful of me to ignore what you’re asking of me… but I mean, even though I willingly entered into the conversation, that doesn’t mean I have to give it *my* all. I mean, sure, that would be the respectful and not-selfish thing to do, y’know, to actually apply myself as best as possible in something that I’m willingly putting myself through, but I mean… I lack respect for you, so I’ll just be selfish and not do what you’re clearly asking me to do.

That works for me. That means I don't got to debate with and I can keep having fun. So win/win for me. I don't group up with people to make friends or respect. I'm just using you for progression. If you happen to be fun, and enjoyable sure I will be friends. However, that is not my goal when I group up. I'm just having fun in my own way and getting the content done. It has nothing to do with respect. I respect you and the game enough to not break the rules of said game. That is all it goes too.

Like it works both ways. The only reason why I have the right I feel in this is one. The group being made has no standards as the game itself made the group for us. And the content can easily be done with a full group of players just like me.

You should compromise your preferred play style some of the time.

That's why I suggested you use more of your skills (read: not all, but more) in dungeons where your play style preference has way more of an impact.

No one would have a problem if you did that in the alliance raids as there's a bunch of other players in the raid that can pick up the slack unless you're tanking. You could likely get away with it not being a huge problem in normal trials.

But dungeons?! That's where your preferred play style really impacts other players. By not stopping and thinking about how your play style affects others in such content, that is being selfish.

You don't care how much more time that your play style adds to the dungeon run and how that could impact someone's ability to get everything they had planned to do that day done.

I want you to run a level 70 or higher dungeon with your preferred play style a few times. The same one. Record time it takes. Then do the same dungeon again a few more times but use all of your skills. Time it. You don't have to report back your findings, but keep that time increase in mind every time you go into a dungeon with the mindset to only use 2-3 of your skills because the others don't look cool. Maybe seeing that time increase will tell you why we call it selfish to do that every time with every dungeon you go into and not care about how it impacts others.

Edit to add: If I had a character on Crystal data center, I'd volunteer to help out with the above testing to remove another variable that would impact time. But my characters are on Aether data center.

So if my play style is roleplaying in the party chat without using any skills on any one other than popping a cure 1 on myself, that’s fine right? I mean, that’s how I want to play the game, and you should respect my right to play how I want. You don’t pay my sub.

And let’s say the other two don’t have a problem with it. It’s just you. We’re progressing at turtle speed because everyone’s dying but like… I don’t care, and you should respect that.

If the content gets done. I don't care. I would get a laugh if I saw that. I mean with how people talking about the content being too easy. I guess you will be doing a service to some players.

The standard for PUG group is to be a team player.

Team players are not selfish.

Your play style reduces the fun for everyone else you play with. That's what you don't seem to get.

Some people will put up with it because finding another player is less fun, but it's still not fun to take an additional 15-30 minutes to get through a dungeon because someone in the party is only using 2-3 of their skills because those are the only ones that look cool.

Especially if they are a DPS that already spent 15-30 minutes in a queue to get into the dungeon. Now they have to take another queue length to get through the dungeon instead of getting in and out and queuing for the next. By the time they finish the dungeon with you, they could be cleared and into the next PUG group if they had been paired with anyone else but you.

That's selfish.

Once data center travelling is a thing, if that means PUG groups get affected, I'm vote kicking you the moment I see you in the dungeon. Because I view you not willing to compromise on your play style ever as not meeting the standard for a PUG group. You aren't willing to be a team player. So I would have no problem kicking you because I know you will refuse to be a team player.

You still can’t call me out on it, it’s my playstyle to let the dungeon timer run out! I just wanna see the pretty colors on cure 1! Respect my playstyle! Otherwise youre infringing upon my in game right to play however I want, regardless of other people’s time and energy. I don’t care about you, I care about MY fun. *I* want the timer to run out, *I* play the game like that. *I* only play for myself, *I* only want to have fun for myself, without a care for others. You should respect that right, since you’re all about respecting your own playstyle. Other people being selfish shouldn’t matter to you, right?

I'm ok with that? Like even if I don't progress, even if it takes the whole timer. I will still have fun, and hope you did also. like I said, I go into pugs with the right mindset.
