Well you may see very little reason but there are many of us who think diversity and racial differences are a good thing and it appears the development team understands there are two camps on this issue pro and against.

I wouldn't mind if they just did the simple top that male hyur and female miqote or elezan have
For all races
Just be odd seeing lala in high lander hempen gear
But what you want doesn't make sense with the world as it's presented.
I see very little reason because said diversity doesn't make any sense. If an Au Ra man wanted to get a pair of boxer briefs to keep his ridiculously thick thighs from chafing, he isn't going to be refused service. Not to mention these don't even come from racial related vendors. You just pick them up in every city state from a Midlander. Highlighting racial differences doesn't make sense because everyone in the same location is under the same culture regardless of how tall they are or what animal parts are attached to their bums. The Gold Saucer outfits are infinitely more culturally significant than any of the current race lock geared.
This is more of an aside to my original point, but if SE were to come out with a new outfit next patch that only fit catgirls, I think you would find very, very, very few people praising SE for increasing diversity. In no dictionary does limiting choice increase diversity. That is literally the opposite of diversity.
Your example is that of unequal numbers of glamour sets. But if SE made one glamour outfit for catgirls and one for every race and gender combination, that would be the most diverse glamour a patch has ever had. Giving everyone their own version instead of one shared version increases diversity.
Your trying inject realism in diversity in a game where I can wear a chocobo mascot head as a glamour for my tank.
This is a game, let people have fun.
If cross racial hempen clothing completely and utterly destroys your sense of the game... the throngs of bikini clad adventures must blow your mind.
Okay in terms of female characters, what's more diverse and a bigger addition:
A. Every race gets a set that's locked to just it's race.
a)Each race is able to wear 5 new pieces of glamour for to wear. Cannot mix.
Or
B. Every race gets a set and every race can wear each set.
(b). Each race is able to wear 35 pieces of glamour to wear. Can mix between 35 pieces.
Seems simple enough to me what's better.
Whilst we're at it, can we have a version of the male Midlander shirt without the collar, please?
All this talk about cultural diversity makes me wonder, how indicative of the cultures are the Hempen and Starter gear?
Looking at the lore book, each race has a small section dedicated to how they dress but some of the descriptions are really basic...
Hyurs: Like mixing cotton and leather. Prefer highboots.
Elezen: Sharply cut attire to play off their build.
Lalafells: Scarves and loose-fitting clothes for traveling.
Miqo'te: Little-to-no armor and tail-holes in pants.
Roegadyn: Show off muscles.
Au Ra: Scale belts and tactical tears to look tough.
The idea that limiting everyone increases diversity is absurd in itself.
In Elder Scrolls Online, you can wear any variant of any race's gear on any character, and that fact doesn't hurt the roleplay or immersion of that game at all. I don't see how unlocking hempen styles for this game for all races would hurt anyone, especially considering how basic they are in design.
