thinking back on this i think the character overhaul was part 1 of the graphics overhaul. perhaps the gear overhaul will bring us viera and hrothgar hats at long last

Can't wait to come back and post whenever the raid gear drops and Viera once again can only use 2-3 piece of headgear for each patch

Don't worry guys, viera/hrothgar wil get their hats by next patch (yeah right). They're just gonna milk female hrothgar getting hairstyles from 2014 as "new content every patch," and well into 8.0. Then they'll tell us "until female hrothgar gets all hairstyles we can't work on hats."

Outside of msq xiv is in maintenance mode; we just have to accept that reality.

Dawntrail msq was solid, and even the jobs themselves are of great quality. But we're fooling ourselves if we think the rest of the game's content is in a good state, it's not.

I'm torn. I like how Iyami came out after the graphics update (her face is a little rounder, maybe, but hey, so is mine). But I'm also getting tired of the limitations. I don't have the energy to keep getting angry about it anymore, but I do have that free fantasia sitting in my saddle bag.....

How many millions of us are paying 15$ a month to play this game, are we just bailing out Square Enixes blunders like Forespoken, Babylons Fall and so on?
Or do we ever get to fund 1 single person to sit down for 6~12 months and make all the old headgear for Viera and Hroths?
They could pay this person I don't know 70,000$ and that would be only 4.666 paying our sub for one month. Only 388 of us paying for 12 months.
Can we crowd found hiring such a person for Square Enix? This would be 11 million yen a year. I'm pretty sure you could find some pretty talented 3D artist for such a wage in Tokyo.

Still waiting on Y'shtola's hair for fem Viera (and fem Hrothgar)... :')

What bothers me is how limited the hair color is on Hrothgar. We don't get the full range other races do and 80% of the colors are just shitty shades that don't match most of the "skin" colors. Why? Is it because the shoulder fur and tail color attaches to hair? Miqote don't have a problem with their tails being the same color as their hair.

We're already heavily limited with the hairstyles and hats situation and they decided you know what? More limitations. I do not understand why.

I'm just sad that the only unlockable hairstyle we have access to at the moment is like, 15 million on the market board.

Not only can't they wear hats yet but my Male viera's hair is broken now. You can see the skin coming out from the nape. Crazy update.

Years after buying haircuts that would work on other races i played before; with REAL money, i still cant use them on my viera. Not even those that came back with recent events, like noctis' hair. Nothing mentionned about what they are going to do about this in dawntrail. It's embarassing and honestly annoying because i don't feel like changing races just for that, i'm the type that keeps the same character for a few months/years before even thinking about it. I feel bad for the fem hrothgars that basically have nothing at all

Adding my voice to the many here. They really should be ashamed for dropping the ball on such a trivial matter as letting CHARACTERS WEAR HATS THAT OTHER CHARACTERS DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WEARING. The fact that instead of rectifying this issue on content that does release, they instead just sweep it under the rug and try to mask the problem by making pretty much the majority of head gear a variety of face masks, circlets and silly little trinkets as headwear instead of actual hats is pretty ridiculous. Yes Yoshida, we noticed. It's not a coincidence that hat gear is becoming less commonplace. You're just increasing your work load more and more, without getting anywhere. Tires stuck in mud.

The longer you play this game though, the more you realize that this is not a unique problem, and it's very endemic in just about every area of this game, the shortcomings and their unwilling attitude towards confronting the issues.

I hope dawntrail is the last expansion where this is a problem, and that going forward they'll actually make an effort at correcting their mistakes, but 4 years ongoing in this issue, nearly a decade ongoing in others, I don't have much hope in that regard. No excuse for this, enough with the "please understand." Do better.

Coming back again to comment that releasing a full set of raid gear and crafted gear where once again viera and hrothgar can't use the headgear is annoying.

Stop doing this SE, you are the ones who design these gear pieces, stop doing this. No one is making you keep churning out incompatible hats every patch and increasing the disparity between finished and unfinished races.

At least i can see the mask part of the raid caster gear i guess. Lol

I'm hoping they'll make all Hrothgar racial hairstyles accessible for all faces in the near future.

I really love the female hairstyles for Face 3, but I can't wear them with Face 4... :(

I came to the forums just to find this thread. I was so hyped for female hrothgar and I still love them. But I really wish the hairstyles weren't locked to face. I'm stuck on face 3 because it's the only face/hair combo I like. All of face 1 hair makes the head look small to me and face 4 has amazing hair but a scary face. I want face 1 with face 4 hair so bad :(

Basically having 2 hairstyles per face, plus not being able to wear the new hats on a lot of job gear this expansion is a pretty big bummer.

Also, I saw somewhere people commenting on female hrothgar arms/legs being messed up in gear, especially shoulders. I agree. When I put on a few glams it's like my shoulders become comically large and my face tiny in comparison.

If I had to pick 1 over the other to fix though... Please, unlock face and hair being locked to each other. On male too. I'd be ok waiting forever for hairstyles being trickled to us if we just had some more base options.

They added a couple more hairstyles to the hrothgals!!

The "can I speak to your manager" Karen hair is unlocked. I'd hoped more regular hairstyles would have been added...Really wanted the high ponytail with the bangs.

Controlled Chaos is also available to fem Hroths now. I wonder how long it'll take for them to catch up with the other races/genders? My favorite hairstyles weren't made available this time around, sadly.

I was hoping they'd go with Rainmaker, Windcaller etc. first, the ones that might be more suitable for big wild cat people. (Of course there would also be "unlock all racial hairstyles for all faces" as an option but who am I kidding. xD ) But oh well. At least it's more than the two hairstyles I was able to see when I checked after all (I don't have many unlocked, so I only had "Ponytails" and the other one not to be unlocked with a magazine.)

I just want to wear witches/wizardly hats. That's all I want.

For me the ponytails hair never stood out before on any of the other races I tried but on femhroth I lowkey feel like it makes me look like a supermodel?? The person fitting these did some serious magic haha

As for which one to choose, it's so hard, Pip looks adorable in everything! Also no peanut head for the Karen hairstyle!

In the end, I chose this, it made Pip look like the adorable innocent bean that she is!

Y'all look like twins/sisters! I have to admit, the hairs look pretty good on Hrothgar. I was worried about the ponytail and 2B, but they didn't disappoint.

I would just like to continue to complain that I think it is truly abysmal that gear is still being made that is unable to be used by Hrothgar and Viera (especially egregious are upcoming mogstation items that can't be worn by Viera/Hrothgar, either)

It's been like 6 years, Square. Get it together.

Hrothgar's skulls are giant Diglets with a deformed human face grafted onto the front.
When you notice it, you won't be able to unnotice how unnaturally deformed, oversized and shapeless the skull is, especially when viewing them from the side.

Does anyone know which hairstyles did Viera get this patch? I can't find anyone posting about it for the life of me...

some of the FF type zero hairstles and the afro
if you edit a retainers looks you can check what new hairstyles they add at the bottom since they don't reorganize the hair styles they just plop them at the bottom

This doesn't include hairstyles you haven't unlocked though.

Am I losing my mind or did they make female hrothgar arms bigger? I think my perception is just skewed, I haven't seen myself in cutscenes in a while and the angles they've chose in 7.1 look like I've taken steroids.

It looks the same to me. I took a few screenshots in my usual zones and didn't notice anything different. It could be the light, it looks odd in a few cutscenes.

I figured. I looked at old pics I've taken and they are the same. Some of the angles of cutscenes for 7.1 are just odd so makes my arms look bigger.
