My retainer brought me some some High quality level 50 Blacksmith boots... We have one less craftsman walking around Eorzea... Or he survived and is missing one leg.

I think my retainer is a bit special, I made her a monk but she keeps coming back to me with fish.

All my retainers (Hyur, Miqo, Ele and Lala) all bring me fish quite frequently >.<

My two retainers sometimes bring me exactly the same items (from the 18h venture). I think it's highly suspicious!

What do your retainers say when you call 'em while they're away and when they brought you something?

My fisherwoman retainer doesn't bring me fish... She brings me shale brown dye. I have like 65 of them and it's a hideous colour!

My retainer brought me a light steel plate... Miki made it into Armoured panties but I decided they were not for me and sold them.

And a fish :/ ...

Also: Sblz got a SS of the new BLM PvP boots... they really are tapered down just like the concept art!

Well the FATE in Tokyo event is pretty interesting.

Nice little tidbits like being able to have 2 people on your mount and being able to 'feed the chocobo' something that will change its colour.
Also seems like a hint that personal house costs more then 850k... no solid info yet /grain of salt

Hmm, someone mentioned that only rooms in FC house will be released first. So the room might be more than 850k...

But it is true that FC rooms are coming before the personal housing ^_^

So with the announcement that there will be a FFXIV Fanfest in Las Vegas Nevada sometime in October. I have to ask, anyone else gonna try and go?(In fact i'm 90% sure i will be there, pardon any disasters.) Got plenty of time to start pinching those pennies :)

As much as I love to attend anime and gaming events, Vegas is just a whee bit far for me.
I'm hoping for a European one in the near future.

Anyhow, for an ingame topic;
Have any of you won Turn 6 of coil yet, and if so, what strategy do you use in the last phase?
Mainly, handling the slugs/honeys.

You could try visiting the GamesCom in Cologne (Köln) Germany. I’ve been there last year and it was pretty awesome to visit it. I even managed to meet and greet Yoshi-p and Foxclonn there. (^_^ )-b But, it was EXTREMELY crowded there (which i think would be pretty common for gaming conventions like that). So, if you don’t mind large crowds, i would suggest visiting it at least once.
In regards to Turn 6. Our group is currently working on those 2 phases. We have the phases down up to the honey phase and we got passed it once before, so we know we can do it. We know that the person who has been honey glazed, has to be eaten and that the Bees do a 30k Final sting. So it’s a lot about positioning and prioritizing in that phase.

What we do as a group, is making sure that we tank Rafflessia in the center of the arena, while keeping the freshly popped Bulbs behind it. That way, the DPS and Healers can stand behind Rafflessia until someone gets flagged for the nom-nom’s. He or she only has to run into the nearest thorns behind Rafflessia, while the honey glazed member gets eaten and the rest avoids being eaten. But, in order to make that work, the Bulb that drops in the center, has to be killed before it spawns any thorns. Then we still have the Bees to take care off.

This requires a lot of coordination and swift (re)action. This is the part we are currently working on. Once we have that down and can get passed this phase comfortably, then we will be focussing on getting that phase down. But, from what i’ve heard, that phase shouldn’t be too hard.

Our strategy right now (based on getting to it just once) is pulling Rafflessia to the edge of the arena (where there are no Thorns) and have the rest stand behind it. When the Slugs pop, take care of 2 slugs and let the 3rd one turn into a Super Slug. Once that one’s down, burn the boss down.

But… That is still a work in progress. (^_^; )

I visit a lot of anime and gaming conventions (I organize an anime convention myself as well), so crowds aren't a big problem for me. (Depending on the amount of Otaku Funk in the air, mind you o.o; )
Gamescon in Köln is still on the planning, but not for this year as August is going to be a very busy period for me this year.

I will be going to EGX in London in September, but I'm not sure (yet) if Yoshi-P or any other of the FFXIV crew will be there.

The eating range of Raflesia is roughly 180 degrees, what we do is have the marked target stand at A and the rest of the party at B as soon as the yellow mark disappears the target runs to B.
About Half way Raflesia is far enough to avoid being eaten, you may still get stunned but that's not so bad.
If you have a honey glazed person, they stands at A once we kill the bee and that person does not move from that spot until eaten and spat out.
This strategy is working pretty well for us.

As for the last stage, what we're looking for right now is what works for us.
We've tried the super slug a few times, but it appears to lose hate on the tank completely once it has consumed the honeys and it starts one shotting people before I even have a chance to LB it. (It hit people for ~5.5k+ damage on regular hits.)

Another thing we're trying now is have our Black mage LB the slugs as soon as they appear and try and burn through Raflesia before the Acid rain stacks kill us.
We're just trying to figure out how to not get our black mage killed due to animation lock after the LB because we really need his DPS as well to pull that off.

I thought I read about a EU Fanfest in London this year o.o
Guess it was on gamerescape /think

Ah well, it is more likely that I'll go to Gamescom again instead of the XIV Fanfest.

My group has downed her.

We used the line of sight method for handling devours for our win. Before that we used briars but just found los to be more consistent and fluid. For the last phase, we used the burn method. We are real close on the damage but we got it down.

Caster LB right after leaf storm finishes and then just run the boss up to the edge and burn her down before the stacks from the honeys kill you. While dealing with the other mechanics ofc. (chains, swarm, rotten stench.)

It is a lot better indeed.
The FATE part can still be a bit finicky however as that can be kind of a waiting game on which you have to hope that you won't need to go do something else away from the computer for the next couple of hours.
Oh and how I dread getting a book that sais I have to kill Miser's Mistress... Oh how I despise the Aurum Vale.
I haven't had to yet, but I just know I will get a book that tells me to.

Well, i'm guessing that this was more of a matter like getting the Aiming gear... Again. And since no one needed it, it plummeted towards the ground. /cry (T_T ) Goodbye poor Allagan gear, i knew thee well.
