So that level 1 Hempen Dalmatica that used to cost 780 "Tanaka gil" now costs 78 "Yoshi gil".

We are getting a multiplier of 1/10 on every gil source, and all gil currently in the system.
So 1/10 of 100 is 10. If you wanted to go back to the old currency that would be 10/1 (10/1 * 1/10 = 1).
So the "number" of currency carried around is less. However the power of the currency is 10 times as powerful.
Basically nothing has happened. 1/10 the amount, 10 times the power. 1/10 * 10 = 1.
(1 means no change)
This is pure gold. We have to bump up these threads a couple months after 2.0 so a lot of people could feel assamed of themselves (as they should).
No, you aren't. And that is what you don't get. And until you get it I'm just going to refer to you as an idiot. Because it's not worth trying to explain it to you. You abjectly refuse to think about it in any other context than your personal gil is going down in number.
So when you decide to pull your head from your nethers and THINK for a minute about how this effects EVERYONE... and you slowly come to the realization that IT DOESN'T. Then I will retract my comment about your OBVIOUS idiocy.
I bet some people will buy the items priced at 1.0's old values but those values are unmaintainable. No one is going to maintain to pay 10 times the price for something - specially when in the new system everyone can put up things for sell (and will underbid each other).
If you dont trust people to underbid you havent been paying attention to the market lol
It might not be an exact 1/10th conversion. Nothing could guarantee that. More than likely even without the redenomination of gil there is going to be a period of market instability when 2.0 goes live. But with the gil changes I'd be willing to bet all of my gil that when the markets stabilize again the new trend in prices will be far closer to 10% of current prices than they will be to 100% of current prices.
Because, and I can already tell this. You, personally, wouldn't be willing to pay old prices for 2.0 items. And guess what? No one else will be either!
