I was running an Expert (I ran a couple so I could get my next Lore item) and about halfway through someone in one of my LS's asked for my help with something. I asked if they could wait until I was done my run and they said that was perfectly okay.

So I told my party about it and asked if it would be at all possible to speed up the run, the tank had been pulling small despite being properly geared. The tank responded with "sure" and I thanked him. They then proceeded to do the exact same sized pulls, except before and after every single pull they would now stand there and do one of the dances (/tdance, /gdance, /mdance, ect) and usually one of the DPS would get annoyed and pull for him. I didn't really say anything, but the melee got really mad at the tank so the tank stopped rolling on loot so we couldn't kick him.

At the end of the dungeon he said, "u should really plan out ur time better, whm. u dumb b*tch" Both the DPS started swearing and yelling at him and I just sat there really confused about what I did wrong. o.o"

As usual, 4 healers. No tank. No one wants to change jobs.
WHM is my only level 60 job, so I can't change.
Other 3 healers have EVERYTHING at 60.

And no one wants to change jobs...
What else is new.
Immortal Flames start getting all the Tomeliths. Maelstrom and us are losing badly.

Yet, for some reason everyone decides to target The Maelstrom instead of Immortal Flames. Only one other person on the team had enough common sense to tell everyone to target Immortal Flames.
No one cared or listened. Only when Immortal Flames had 450 points did everyone else change targets.

In the end, I did 460k healing. Other healers did 270k, 200k, and 190k. Of course, we got slaughtered.
If you aren't going to heal, then why play a healer in PvP?

Ran Chrysalis with my warrior friend to get him the clear, I was on AST. Warrior friend says in /p he's new, WHM and BLM say the same, other BLM leaves even before the barrier is down. Mentor paladin pulls without explaining or giving anyone the time to explain anything (good thing I explained the fight to warrior friend before I signed us in, but poor WHM and BLM), a bard joins and immediately starts singing Foes (singing bard yay). Sphere phase starts, WHM, BLM and monk #1 just run into any sphere, I can keep WHM alive, WHM keeps monk #1 alive, BLM dies. I raise BLM and top him up for the incoming big attack which deals massive damage because a lot of spheres actually went through. Poor WHM seems overstrained with all this damage and people eating the wrong spheres and later the aoes and then the tankbuster, but it's okay, he's giving his very best and I can soloheal this fight to a certain extent. Second sphere phase is squishy again, BLM dies again, I look at my low mana and cry because I don't get an Ewer ;_; But well, I can still keep everyone up, no problem! ...or perhaps not, when we get to the meteor phase, it's warrior friend, monk #2 and me catching them up while mentor paladin stands in the center, right under the very big meteor, seemingly ready to, uhm, catch this one up. Uuuuuhm. Well. Monk #1 LB's the Aetherial Tear and kills it, but in the end it's only him and the tanks alive. Wipe.

Monk #1 leaves, dragoon joins, lolmentor paladin pulls again. Massive damage coming up again, WHM dies this time, I raise him quickly, bard sings Ballad for him (SINGING BARD YAY), yet we wipe again due to meteors not being caught up because lolmentor paladin still stands in the center. Finally paladin doesn't immediately pull again, so I get some time to actually explain the fight. Thanks, lolmentor. This time he actually moves for the smaller meteors, yay. There's still a lot of damage coming up, but we finally make it in this third try. Everyone leaves after the clear until it's warrior friend and me left, as well as the WHM. Both are totally excited about the fight and gush about how amazing it was, then WHM apologizes for not being much of a help, which is not true, he kept his hots up and did his very best to keep everyone alive and understand and learn the mechanics. I cheer him up by telling this and by telling him to just keep practicing until he considers healing Chrysalis a cakewalk. I give him my comm, we wave us goodbye and I leave with four comms and an amazingly good feeling :)

I am quite 100% positive Selli did nothing wrong in that situation...so I don't know where this not totally right thing is coming from here.

All she did was tell the party the situation and asked the tank (politely I assume) if they could speed up the run a bit.

If the tank was uncomfortable with pulling more than one set they could have just said something like "I am sorry I am not really comfortable pulling more than one set at a time, I'll try to go faster but I might only pull one set still, sorry"

Instead the tank decided to troll her and purposefully make the run even longer by dancing between pulls. All because she asked if they could pull more? Defensive much? Rude much? Like really, have we gotten to the point where people can't even ask anything at all of their fellow players without getting toxic attitude back?

That tank was a jerk. Especially from that comment at the end. All because she asked for something, to which they could have just said "No I can't sorry". Instead they went the "OMG U QUESZHEN MUH PLAYSTILE U MUST BE A B&^%#" route. The route that never ceases to piss me off.

I did say *wrong maybe not* but neither is that right to ask something like that and then complain about the guy not doing it on the contrary slowing it down, by that teaching a lesson that it is not because you ask that you will get it(except the insult which I dont agree with). It can be seen that way. What we miss here is the tone used to ask such a thing, if the tone used is.*come on tank, hurry up, someone is needing my help* or if the tone is, can we hurry up tank this is too slow ? see what I mean ?

Here we have only one side of the story, so no I dont agree. In my case, I would have simply said *No*...but not everybody is like me.

It seems rather strange that you take this situation and try to make it out to seem that the tank was possibly justified in his actions. Besides him cussing Selli out a the end, even him dancing was incredibly inconsiderate. Just because you think it is possible that Selli could have given the tank a "tone" doesn't mean she did, and from what I've seen from her on the forums and just from her post alone I doubt it very much. And even if she did give a "tone" of rudeness, the tank could have been more mature and talked to her about it rather than slowing the run down for everyone. Regardless of how you look at it, the tank was far more n the wrong than Selli could have been.

Certainly the tank was rude. I'm sure that Miste was very polite when asking in the first place.

Actually, that would be a first in my experience. I've never, ever, seen a "request" to pull faster made without rude attitude. But hey, there's always a first time.

If the rest of the group is on board with kicking him, I would suggest that everyone stop and wait for the loot window to time out. If the troll wants to try and solo a boss to keep the loot window open, he's welcome to do so - it'd probably be good entertainment to watch him try.

I feel sorry for every subsequent group that gets stuck with this bastard. If he wasn't happy pulling more he could have just said no and that would be fair. Nobody should have to tolerate behaviour that is deliberately aimed at making someone else miserable.

You cannot convey tone through text that's part of my point. What I am saying is people jump the gun to defensiveness too quickly. Like "OMG you asked me a question? WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING MUH PLAYSTYLE" when maybe the only thing asked was "Could we pull a bit more at a time?". There is no tone to convey so instead of freaking out and getting defensive (swearing, trolling) you could ask a question back like "Why?" or say something like "I am not comfortable will pulling more sets at once" and see where it goes from there.

If there is no tone to begin with then people are making up tones in their minds and then attacking the person who typed something to them. Automatically assuming this person is rude when they might not be.

Also people judge people poorly too quickly, just like you just did with Selli; like making assumptions about her without asking her instead. You are saying she was complaining he wasn't doing it, I am pretty sure she wasn't, it was just part of the situation that happened. She was confused because the tank originally agreed to her request and then started to troll. Instead of just saying "No I can't do that". How about you ask her?

You also assume that Selli needs to be 'taught a lesson' that just because she asks for something she might not get it....like I don't even understand why you are saying things like that? Why are you assuming she thought she was immediately going to get what she wanted just because she asked? Is there some sort of rule that you cannot ask for things anymore because if you are you are being immediately entitled? The tank never bothered to type out "No." (he lied and agreed instead). If that did happen the possibilities are two. He says no and Selli says "that's fine!" and run continues with no conflict; or he says no and Selli complains at him for not doing it resulting in conflict. We'll never know which way it could have gone but you are automatically choosing the mean Selli route when you don't even know what would have happened had he just said no.

Sorry but there is just no justification for this kind of rude behavior unless Selli was being antagonistic which I highly doubt. He could have just said "No I can't sorry." and seen where it went from there. Instead he decided to be a jerk for no reason because we never found out which Selli he would have gotten. Nice Selli or mean Selli. Schrödinger's Selli @.@ ...ah my brain hurts now.

That reminds me of an IRL situation... A couple of years back, I took the bus to get to a wedding (I was poor, ok?), and had to change buses to get to my destination. The problem was that it was on a "shopping holiday", meaning the bus was laaaaaate, and I would be too >.< So I asked the bus driver (nicely) if he could consider calling the other bus and ask them to wait; I could hop off on an earlier stop because they crossed paths there to give the other bus more time, too. The bus driver (probably tired and stressed out due to being late, but still...) immediately snapped, "Why the f*** do you think they'd wait for you? How f***ing important do you think you are?" A simple No would have been enough, don't you think? Especially when he's working in a service profession. Especially when I'm already dressed up and it's obvious I'm not just 'going shopping' in a tux.
(I did make it in time to the other bus, though. Because that bus was equally late.)

Asking a question doesn't automatically mean you expect a "yeah, sure =D". It means you want to make someone else aware of your wishes and wanting to see if there's at least a compromise somewhere. Unless it's phrased with obvious rudeness and cursing, of course.

Dang, my response to "can you pull bigger?" is "tell me when to stop?"

Mentor roulette these past couple days has been a breeze. Haukke for Tues, Stone Vigil yesterday, I even got a guildhest Monday. Dps has been great, heals have been in cleric stance at least half the time, we burn through everything in 20 min or so. Every time I sign up for mentor roulette there's an anxiety and an anticipation because it could be anything. But that's what keeps it fun and interesting.

So I got into Dusk Vigil today for my roulette... Yeah, uh, I only did that place like once before. So I was kind of lost. I actually had no idea where I was at first. Thank god the bosses aren't mechanic heavy.

Well here is an interesting one...

I was in Alex 5 with a DF group and on the first battle one of the DPS DC's and we finish the battle and he is still not back. Before the second battle I ask nicely to drop the player that is DC'd. I don't get an answer from the leader and then when I ask again the lead says this,"That is not how parties work."

At this point I am totally confused. I am tank so I walk out of arena so as to show that I am not going to start fight until the person is dropped so that the spot can be filled by another DPS. After like 5 more minutes of waiting, the leader finally votes to dismiss...person is dismissed and not even 2 minutes pass and we get another DPS......(to be continued because of character limit)

I thought that everything was fine now ...so we continue to 2nd 3rd and last boss. Halfway through the last battle I get kicked from the party with nothing said prior to dismissal(and we were clearing it fine with no issues). Such a shitty thing to do. And all this just because I asked for a replacement DPS for the one that had been dc'd for more than 5 minutes.

SE should not let parties kick a player in the middle of a fight.

I don't think you can be kicked in the middle of a fight.
What I mean is, a vote kick cannot be initiated once a fight has started. But if the vote was initiated before the fight started it can still pass during the fight.
At least that's my understanding of it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

You can also bypass the character limit by editing your original post.

More on topic: I'm sorry to hear that you were kicked for something like that. What a strange reason to kick someone.
I usually don't hesitate to kick an offline player who has been gone for more than a few minutes, especially if it a DPS during prime time. And even more especially if they aren't really pulling their own weight.

A6 (M2) I went in as a PLD and the other PLD went MT. We started well and smooth until Brawler when MT suddenly disconnected during tank buster. I took over and solo tank it, never in my tanking career have I seen 7 stacks debuff on me and I live XD thanks to the awesome healing from both healers. After using Hallowed Ground and all my other cooldowns just to stay alive, I saw another tank buster coming I started laughing so hard thinking "here's come the finishing blow " but dps saved me with his LB in time.XD When we get to next one the MT finally joined up with us and it was a smooth sail.

I guess I'll go super into detail to clear up any confusion.

It was the Antitower and I asked when we were on the final two sets of trash before the 2nd boss. The last groups of trash before Calcabrina are a little intimidating, but our tank was in full i220 and i230 melded gear, so they had done Midas at least and I assumed tank was their main since they were spending Lore on it. o.o" He was a decent tank too and I saved my Holy's for after his MP regen skill (I forget the name, but it's the pink one. The one that gives him MP when he gets hit) had fallen off to make sure he wasn't missing any of his MP (I've been trying to practice doing that 'cause my bf mains DRK and he hates when I stun everything while it's running, lol ^.^") and he was using Salted Earth and dropping Grit occasionally, he seemed to me like someone who knew his job fairly well. Our DPS was a little slow, though, because we had a SMN who wasn't using their Dread Trans at all, but our MNK was very good and I was helping DPS as well, so we were doing okay.

We did have one death in that run, though. During the first boss, the SMN got turned into a toad with me and stood still as the AoE chunked away at their HP through my Medica II. QwQ But maybe the tank was mad about that? I'm not sure. The SMN did say sorry when they died and I said, "S'okay, I got you." And it was all fine and well.

When I asked we were fighting the three stone guys just before the last trash pull before the 2nd boss. For the two previous trash packs I had been talking in my LS while I was healing and DPSing. I might have stood still a couple times, but not for very long since most of my replies were very short like "In a run" "Can you wait?"

So just before we started that last trash pull before the 2nd boss I said, "<short version of tank's name>, my friend and his gf just said they need my help. Would it be possible at all to speed up the run a bit? They're in a bit of a hurry." I managed to type it up (with a couple typos, I might add, but not unreadable) before he pulled the last group. When he was done with the trash pull he stopped for a moment and said, "Sure." So I replied with, "Thank you so much! :D" and he pulled the 2nd boss almost immediately.

But after that boss he started with the dancing. I didn't say anything 'cause he was missing MP so I thought maybe he was waiting for it to come back before he did a big pull. It was after he only pulled the 4 mammets and started dancing again when they died (despite having full MP) that the party got upset. I didn't say anything other than "?" 'cause I wasn't sure what was wrong. But the MNK said "um pull plz??" and after waiting a minute, the MNK popped Fists of Earth and pulled the next group, the tank popped Sprint and joined us and tanked everything again. But when everything died again he started another dance.

Since I had been the one to ask, I assumed this was directed at me so I just said "Sorry" in the chat. The SMN and MNK went ahead and pulled again, tank popped Sprint and joined us shortly later and this went on for the last remaining trash pulls and final boss.

As soon as the boss died the tank made his comment and I was thoroughly confused, that's why I posted here. Not to complain, but to see if anyone had any idea what I did wrong. o.o 'Cause I really have no idea. The DPS were kind enough to leap to my defense, though, saying things like "ur the one being a dick rn" "you agreed wtf" I actually left while they were still arguing, I simply said "Sorry" again before I left since my offence to the tank also ruined the DPSs' run too. :c

[EDIT] My friend, his gf, and I had a fun time after, though. c: We did the kettle quest together and Ifrit and Garuda ponies dropped for them. We managed to finish just before she had to go off to work, so I guess it all worked out.

In alexander midas a dragoon told the ninja that his dps sucked and said his dps were low (600) or something. Tbh telling people how low their dps is mean. I mean sometimes i watch the emnity list. The dragoon was nr6 while the ninja was nr4 lol. And the dragoon kept brag about his dmg is bettrr bla bla bla and i didnt do anything cuse i didnt really care. The ninja told him to be quit, he was mad and left. And another dps called dragoon mean stuff too and left xD

Also in ravana farm party finder. The party leader kicked a dps with no warnings and said his dps were below 600.

Tbh for a starter like me i dont know what those numbers mean lol. I dont really care. Its just sad that people has to say their dps meter so they can feel good.thought this game was dmg-free-non-number-freaks-game till i got my main to lv 60 xD

For ravana ex farm parties you need 1000 dps per dps to skip all the mechanics of the fight (well butterflies and orbs) it's pretty much a dummy fight with your only movement being when he jumps and to feed prey to tank. If the pf leader labels it skip butterfly or high dps he is well within his rights to kick those that underperform

To clarify between 400-600 is what a level 50 i130 could do in terms of drg so for a level 60 i200+ only managing those numbers it is very low indeed

Also enmity levels don't really mean that much, since each job apart from monks have abilities to lower their enmity.

The guy in midas normal duty finder was a dick tho, yes 600 dps is very low but he has no rights to verbally insult someone over it.

Only thing I can think of...is that the person was maybe in their FC?....and it was retaliation for me getting him to kick his "buddy"?

Still absolutely no reason for ME getting kicked...oh well....arses will be arses.

I looked at DF and it had no option to start the kicking process....I have seen it only when I have lead.....or maybe I am wrong....Ill check later tonight.

Nah, you open the party list and choose the character in question - then you get the option to either open their profile or start a kick against them.

Just had a really good run of Aurum Vale (say what now). I queued in on my SMN, since she's almost level 50 (yay).

We get a new tank (DRK), a new healer (SCH), and the other DPS was a DRG. I gave the tank the best advice I could on tanking AV, since I've only tanked it once or twice, but I gave him the same advice my FC mates gave me when I was learning to tank it. We cleared the first room with no hitch. First boss, we wiped a couple times because of the Gold Lung stacks. The healer said they didn't have time to eat between heals, and I told them I would take over healing the tank while they grabbed their fruit. We agreed on eating at 2 stacks rather than three to make it less stressful, and cleared. ^^

Pull outside the second boss was a little messy. Tank accidentally pulled too much but we cleared it. Second boss was okay until the healer got hit by the 100-tonze swing (the glowy blue one). They had paralysis from Glower, so they couldn't move away in time. I rez'd them, and they got Glowered again and died. I said my swiftcast would be up in about 20 seconds if they could wait while I kept the tank alive. They were fine with that. Rez'd them and the tank died. D: So I told the healer to keep the DRG alive while I raised the tank (sans swiftcast and with paralysis yay).

Up to this point, the DRG had been mostly silent. But they for some reason lost it there and started demanding we raise the tank (which I was doing, but again, no swiftcast, and I had paralysis). After the tank was raised, we killed the boss since he only had 5% health. DRG was still raging, and I told him that Resurrection has an 8 second cast timer, which was made even more difficult since I 1. had no swiftcast, and 2. had paralysis. I said we cleared the boss (which they did NOT die), and to please calm down. Well, they left soon after that (didn't even notice, since I was too focused on my DPS lol), and we got a MNK. Cleared the rest of the dungeon with no problem. :3

Minus the DRG, everyone did really well. The tank felt bad for wiping, but I said it happens, and we managed to recover each time. Told them to enjoy DRK (seriously, fav storyline), and left with their comm (and of course they got mine). AV is a pain, but it felt good helping someone clear it as a first-time tank. :3

Yup AV is where I learned how to tank carefully, in my noob days XD don't wanna pull too much, position myself nicely so dps have access to mobs' rear and flank, tanking boss while watching debuff. The memories and experience from AV made me a decent tank.

So I was doing 50 roulette as ast for some extra exp, figured "this shouldn't be hard" >_> I was horribly wrong. The problem wasn't the tank pulling a lot, I can handle that, the issue was the two dps standing in AoEs that dropped their hp by about 40-60%, not to mention a couple of the mobs had other hard hitting AoEs (that can be silenced/stunned, but of course no one did). Let's just say it's hard to keep a tank up while they have 15-20 things on them, while two dps are getting destroyed by AoEs :/ It's runs like that, that make me want to stop healing

Also, during trials, I got ramuh, easy enough right? Well, it is until the ot is only running circles around the area, grabbing every single orb that pops so the people with the line can't get them, which locks two people from dpsing... The ot was a mentor too.

So not a DF experience, this was actually a PF someone created for a rav ex farm party

This actually sounds as if the Partyleader wanted to sneak in the kills for his friends... sorry you had such a bad experience - and kudos to your patience! I would have left right the second they loaded in.

This has happened to me multiple times since the Ravana birds came out.

I'd been farming it before the patch for glamor weapons, then the bird came out and suddenly everyone wanted in. I'm happy to join and arrange learning and clear parties. But joining a farm with a bonus and not telling the party is a selfish, time wasting thing to do.

When I get in there and see bonus I'll give them three strikes. Three runs and we back out and kick. Even if they clear with us, they're still out for misrepresenting themselves.

Ahh good old Ravana. I don't mind helping people clear as long as they learn from their mistakes and willing to listen since the fight is a straight forward fight. IMO teaching people to dps in Ravana Ex is easier than teaching people to tank. XD trust me I helped my friend tank it before and ended up as solo tanking him, but at least she now knows the mechanic. :D

I really don't mind helping people old with clears, I join seph ex kills and savage kills etc to help these people out. I'll give you the full 90mins as long as your learning and actually have legitimate progress to this stage.

But if I join a farm party I just can't tolerate this shizzle :(

So I joined another farm group just now, tank spinning boss and decides to suicide himself on charges both 'attempts'

What the hell man -.-

I've done over 300 and only seen the bird twice lol..I've pretty much given up for the time being otherwise I'd burn out.
