Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

It was unintended, but you gave me a general frame of time for how long it would take to create a model. They began working on viera around 4.1, right? At least, I think Yoshida said they began working on the viera model at the beginning of heavensward. Let's hypothetically say SE wants to add one of the missing genders. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to get one of them by 5.5-5.8 or so. I could be wrong. I really don't know what it takes to make a new model, but it was just an observation from how long you said it took to create the viera model.

By the way, can you share your source for when the viera model was ready?

Search keyword "Fixed model." Note that he says that, I am fairly certain that "fixed model" means the models that had a full set of animations. I remember reading about him saying that the animation set they'd made for Fran was limited at the time as well, I will check to see if I can find a source on that as well.

I mentioned in my thread, but I'm thinking during this period of time, the devs are making serious considerations and taking player feedback right now. The longer they wait, the more gear pieces will pile up. The expansion will introduce a lot of new head gear, too. So I think if female hrothgar and male viera were to be added, it's a decision they are considering currently.

Since female viera were being worked on near the beginning of heavensward, I'm going to guess that female hrothgar and male viera will be worked on at the beginning of shadowbringers. That is, if they decide to include them at all. All I'm saying is that the discussion period to implement them is occurring right around this time. Whether their decision is yes or no, this decision will have to be made soon because of the consequences I mentioned.

He prob meant that they just recently got the models to a point were they were presentable. A ton of work goes into making a race so them only being able to show so much only shows that they were and are still working on it.

So even if they decided to start working on the genders after 5.0 releases (I'm sure they wont, they prob said they'd look at feed back as a stall cause they know that people will chill tf out with time and something new to talk about. Plus the JPN side doesn't care nearly as much so ... yeah, I call it how I see it.) it's gonna take a full expansion to release. And if they don't plan to make em they prob wont ever say "we're not making them".

Which is a shame for Hrothgar. I really do think the female Hrothgar would have looked like a Pantera mixed with Captain Amelia. Sleek, Regal, Viera height and maybe based on more feminine animals like mountain lions, Cheetah and Foxes. Mainly cause in their lore they seem to hold much more social status than males and the lore questions if they would be large and beefy like the males. Having a noble like woman would play into these anime girl tropes they like to ht on with the females.

If they took 4 patches to make Viera, assuming they start tomorrow or gave already started, I think that they could get a model ready by 5.3-5.4 but as long as they give confirmation I don't mind waiting till that point or maybe a lil bit more

Hmm actually the demand for male Viera and female hrotgar is still just as strong, and I have a Japanese friend and she can confirm that the Japanese side is just as mad. Their give us male Viera thread is one of the most liked ones on those forums and less ppl overall use the forums, so they could very well already started to work on them but since neither u neither I are at SE there is no way of knowing

If you're gonna acknowledge me I'd like to dig into this post. It's actually something interesting and not "my Japanese friend" come backs.

And if your excuse for the JPN side of this forum showing such lil turn out for this topic is that even fewer of them come to the forums then that supports SE not thinking that this hurts the game in any meaningful way seeing as that's a side of this forum they can first hand read and study and reply to. With us English speakers for all we know they ask the people who read our forum what's up and they report that even though the threads are so and so pages long it's mostly the same <10 people talking in circles as a means to keep bumping threads and Yoshi could see that as "low temperature" without even bothering to read through it. If you wanna look at outside forums for anything then yeah, you're gonna have to apply that to all the things.
