This is a strawman. I never mentioned anything about making anyone late. I am simply talking about time being wasted.

There is no urgency in my argument, which you seem to be implying. I don't have to go 5 minutes faster because I have something else to do. I simply don't want my 5 minutes wasted, the end.

Funny how 'gameplay differences' isn't a category on the vote kick tool. If this is the mentality the community wants to move forward with I guess I can go on board. DPS standing in AOE... kick, tanks not using mitigation CDs... kick. Gameplay differences after all.

This mindset can be a slippery slope into what will be a toxic community.

I already do that, I also make sure to stand in every AOE and never pop CDs to make sure the healer is getting immersed in playing their role.

If you're talking about raiding, if you aren't willing to contribute everything in your spell book to achieve victory, you deserve to be kicked, because frankly you're just being lazy. Content isn't designed assuming healers are dpsing, okay, that's great. GOOD/Skilled healers will still contribute every ounce of effort to helping achieve victory.

You seem to have this misguided notion that healers are irreplacable precious snowflakes. On my data center right now there are 4 scholars and 2 main healers (Ast/whm) searching for a savage static group. If you're unwilling to step up and play optimally, that's fine. Just be prepared to be replaced.

Are you sure your not the lazy one... I mean, if your playing terribly bad in DF and expecting the healer to carry you... it seems like your the problem. Are you sure they weren't DPSing while you were making sure to stand in that orange AOE?

lol I get what your saying but... trying to force people to do things or punish them is kinda low. I know it is probably rare for you, but if I saw the tank doing terrible I wouldn't think it is because he is teaching the healer a lesson.

With respect to raiding I agree with the sentiments and I assume most would... that said its clear many people posting are applying their standards to all group content.

I've already laid out where I stand on the issue. I don't look it from the perspective of your class role, if you are not doing everything you can to assist the group you are in you will most likely be replaced with another healer that can. People have this narrow minded view on the tank/dps/healer trinity in mmos, having this mindset won't get you very far in this game. You'll either adapt and contribute to your group/raid or you will be replaced by someone that is able to do what you cant. This isn't that hard to understand.

The fact that a lot of healers are able to DPS in any kind of content completly defeats your point.
If they can, even moderatly, do some damage, so can you. Or maybe you're just really bad... it just might be that.

And you have a hard time understanding that having a number one priority (healing) doesn't mean that you don't have any other (dpsing).

Yeah, that's the funny thing. The whole notion that healers are irreplaceable simply doesn't apply to FFXIV, at least in the raiding scene. This game has a huge population of healers compared to many other MMOs.

That's actually why I stopped maining a healer class and went to DPS instead, because I'm a lot more useful and needed there.

if I'm in expert roulette and the healer is being lazy, I don't care. I often don't do my optimal DPS rotation in Expert Roulette either. I'm usually watching youtube on one screen and half-booty DPSing on the main one.
