Ah, the joys of people putting words in your mouth, i actually do dps if the tank does not need much healing, my point was any fool who thinks DPSing as healer should be mandatory has lost the meaning of doing their job, i in fact have never had a PT dislike me for any reason, however, the fact remains the same, Regardless of how silly that post you just made was. We all make mistakes.

The difference with that is, standing in AOE's it's just plain dumb and silly because they are willfully taking the damage due to tunnel vision or they are just slow, that is a terrible comparsion, because you can beat any content fast and effective without a Healer throwing DPS, but as i corrected the above poster who also thought he was making a point but ending up looking silly, foolish comments like this do not change facts. Healer DPSing is optional. for me i do it so i don't get bored and just stand there.
However this thread title was a perfect example of those 2 posts.
I'll probably make a video today showing how FUN is to be a pure healer in dungeons.

You know there is parsers for Damage done, but never for healing done per seconds or HPM....no one ever thanks healers for doing a good job or thanks us for even doing any dps, they just expect it. Lucky for me ive never been booted for not dpsing, but i do not like to stand there getting bored.
As was already said, wrong.
What you don't see is people talking about their huge hps, at least if they have any idea about healing. Why is that you ask, because huge hps means you are way over healing or your party is taking way to much damage.
I had one healer comment that my hps was "alright" one time. This was a derp that kept med II up for all of A4 and aggroed the adds every time, and spammed heals. Over healing for hps is grand.
Generally as long as everyone is still alive knowing your HPM isnt really needed, even in a static situation you can tell what needs changed without knowing your HPM.
And no one really thanks healers for keeping people alive because most people dont thank anyone. When was the last time you saw someone thank a dps for doing good dps, or a tank keeping agro on everything?
I know that parser had healing per minute, but no one ever goes off that stat do they? Saying well the healer was really good they maintained a good healing per minute, nope instead its dps dps dps dps....im a healer by main role, its optional for me to dps not mandatory...same as its optional for Drg/Monks to off tank if needed.
Healing is a thankless job, most of the community blame you for everything.
HPS isn't that good of a metric for healing anyway. Minimising overhealing is more important.
