I don't see any proof backing up your statement. SE seems to care much more about their game and the customers a heck of a lot more than other MMOs I've played. Yes, they are a company trying to be successful (oh no), but that doesn't automatically mean they'rte going to go overboard with it.

Because we shouldn't have to now use more money on anything. For 4 years this game has been out and we got these items through playing and we got access to everything released because we pay a subscription few. Now that's been downgraded to only cover the basics and if we want more we have to pay more. That's not right.aybe it's fine in other games but when a company blatantly tried to take as much money from me as possible I don't support them. The game was not failing so this is not a tactic to survive, this is simply greed.

Wether they change it back or not, it's a plus for the company and a negative for everyone who plays. And lowers my respect for the company

Well like I said, those event vendors appeared at the same time as the events themselves and sold items from that seasonal event and the same past seasonal events. Now the only thing this current event's vendor sells are the items from this year, last year they also sold 1.0's pumpkin heads from that Halloween event.

...Do I really have to repeat myself to you? Nothing has changed. There have been both free and paid for minions since launch. Also, you're taking this waaay too personally and you seem to be forgetting that this is in fact a company with huge game budgets and large staff.

I welcome the chance to occasionally extra support the company that I enjoy.

I mean, they gave us a free fan fest (stream) in three different companies. I am grateful for that. This is coming from a fan of FFXI where it felt for the majority of the time that the japanese scene hardly cared for other countries. If my funds go into the coffer and SE sees that its coming from the whole of FFXIV then that means higher quality of funds that investors will put into things like Fan Fests and Art Books and other useless promo stuff. Hey im game.

So Far SE is still trying to retain individuality in this mmo while also trying to make a profit so that the company doesnt go under. You all know what happens when companies go under from trying to be too different? they just disappear. So we all will lose if SE just ups and disappears. Because you know, no more forum to come to gripe on.

I didn't have the game when those events happened, so it sounds like they got rid of the npc that would sell you gear that you missed and moved it to the cash shop.

But of course that isn't affecting my game at all :rolleyes:

If you want to put blind faith in a company thats done as much PR spin as SE has since launch, go for it.

I'm being realistic and going by what they've done (or not done as they claimed) so far.

I don't see how I'm white knighting simply for not automatically assuming the company will go overboard with absolutely no evidence to back it up. Though I guess anything that isn't negative toward SE is seen as white knighting as long as I'm disagreeing with you.

The FFXIV team sees we're interested in buying vanity items (fantasia potions), so they're going to make more available for purchase alongside physical stuff (plushies for example). I see no harm in that.

Fell free to post actual evidence that supports your claim though.

I'm not gonna argue about why it's not the same thing. If you can't see how you get a physical item with those that you would otherwise never have then I can't help you. Your still ignoring the fact that the company is not doing this for the survival of the game but simply for greed to get more money. Screwing your fans to fill your pockets is not a company I like to support. It's a personal opinion. Clearly you don't feel the same. But don't try to belittle our opinion by treating us like children
