I know this has been said, and said over and over again, but 'Oh Dear Gods' this FATE grind stuff has to stop. I spent about 7 hours on Friday in the East and North shroud to get absolutely nothing while having to deal with people who feel the need to shout to the zone that they got it. It is infuriating. I don't mind hard work. That is fine, but don't make it completely random. I'd prefer a 'go kill 1000 of these enemies to earn the right to battle some baddie in a BCNM sort of thing for the drop' to 'go do FATES for 7 hours and maybe get a drop.' There is SOOO much to do (and yes there are other paths to take in the game for weapons, we've already been told that this weapon is going to grow with us as we level, so it makes sense to keep up on its progression) there isn't really any time for a person who might have some semblance of a life to be able to complete if the drop rate is going to be this sporadic and random (let alone complete multiple of them).
It is also getting to the point where there are so many people farming FATEs that they aren't up long enough to even get to if you aren't in the immediate vicinity. Come on SE, haven't you learned by now that FATEs aren't the way to handle things like this. Have the development progression make sense, and get rid of the obnoxious random element. I want to feel like I actually earned it rather than feeling I got really lucky. It may take me a bit longer to do than a FATE grind, but I won't hate the world and I'll have a good idea of my path forward.
