Monks very weak. Need rebalance

Now now, be nice to the newbie.

Aside from that, to stay on topic.
I am loving the crap out of monk, I don't have experience on other jobs yet but my experience with monk is that it's a job that is not suited for the lazy.

While I have nothing against ballancing a few things, please, for the love of whatever deity does not offend you, do not change this job!

To clarify, most of the monk info I get from these forums (even though it looks like you guys never seem to agree on anything sometimes) and trying things out myself.
I do not know who this Neo guy is that claims to be the go to guy for all monk related things on the server I play on, but consiedring this ginormous smug that surrounds this guy I am pretty sure I won't be asking for his advise.

Except MNK is capable of more DPS than BLM, so nope. I'm not talking about dummies either - that's too easy. MNK is capable of doing more DPS than BLM in actual content.

It just saddens me to see so many people sleeping on MNK's potential. I suppose most people enjoy basing their claims on their personal experiences alone - which are often incredibly limited as i would expect from a lv 18 PGL - instead of actually testing things out properly.

I parsed 165 DPS on my Monk on Titan using a grand company weapon and AK gear. Hit about 195 on the last boss in AK.

Monks shit out a retarded amount of DPS. Luckily they have a ramp-up time so they don't pull aggro 3 seconds into the fight.

It's amazing how so many people manage to read so little in an average post before feeling compelled to reply, isn't it? :P

I also often wonder what parser and in turn what value they are basing their DPS value on when people talk abut their performance without posting a screen capture - and just how many of them are actually doing like 100 average DPS and reading the total DPS value on LogRep.

Attempting to calculate non-asinine DPS values on Titan using logrep makes me cry rivers of bloody tears as the echoing cries of lost souls reverberate throughout my psyche.

Luckily ACT can add and divide things and I woke up from my emo nightmare.

It;s not too difficult. I just use total damage and dps values for a single target - Titan himself - to calculate the exact time, and then use that with total damage in the instance to get the avg dps.

That comes with the assumption that the parser keeps the time rolling on a target even when we're not hitting it of course, but with the time values I've been getting as a result being consistent with the floored time label in minutes in the parser I feel that's a sound assumption to make. Further testing would be necessary to confirm though.

Ultimately, I only ever have to do that calculation to compare performances between runs. When comparing how everyone performed in a single run, the total damage marker is generally sufficient.

For example, I'd love to see this parse of yours at 250 or 280 DPS on Titan considering your gear is considerably inferior to mine and I parsed an avg of 240 DPS on Titan the other night in a run I feel I performed decently (no fat fingering or facerolling).

No I Do Not consider DPS to Be Based Off Aggro My point was when it comes DPS On A single target It's Hard To out Do a Monk who knows how To Use the job properly, I also only lose GL stacks during Primal Fights. Alot of the complaints I Hear about classes I just see but you probably can chalk that up to not spending months on othe classes day in day out
