I think they have to walk a very careful line. They can't just make knee-jerk reactions to things (although sometimes I know it can seem like they do), especially considering that any changes they implement will affect millions of players and possibly create more bugs.
Let's be real feast changes effect maybe thousands of players... Not millions lol
I hope they just say that the chat ban has been lifted and will be unmoderated except for reports of cheating/match abuse. It would be nice if there's a disclaimer that tension runs high during competitive matches with ranking on the line, and encourage individuals to use the chat filter or select an alternate chat channel without party chat if that would make gameplay more fun.
Edit: Then they can just discard all the complaints about name-calling and instead focus on players cheating or otherwise not participating appropriately in a ranked match (afking, feeding, jumping in place, etc).
You know the funny thing is, people just BM by spamming nice job when something goes wrong, and I have even seen people spam "<name> marked <name2> target to ignore"
Chat is still cancerous, you can't stop it SE
The only thing this chat ban does is prevent people from telling others how to play or their mistakes.
And yet they want to "improve" it.
Well, I'm "improving" my Feast experience by not playing it til this gets fixed.
