Like.... how even...? I mean worst case you can just log out...
But just think of the Children (who are about to decide about their future life and job but be dammed if they do some RP)!!!
No, its not. Its about NSFW mods anywhere basically and our mod community just had bad luck lol.
The entire thread is just garbage outrage porn and should have been nuked right off the bat. The real takeaway though is that it's pretty much clear that no one from SE even checks these forums and any feedback given is just shouting into the void. What a waste of time posting in this place is.
SE does check the forums. However many if not most Japanese companies tend to ignore stuff like this coming from overseas. Your SJW's, reset era, cancel culture, etc... have been trying this stuff on social media against all forms of visual entertainment since before this game was made. And I've gotten a few laughs at some of the cheeky responses some companies have fired back at them.
Going to agree with others that this thread is useless.
Yoshi already said he doesnt approve of nsfw modding. Does that in actuality have to stop anyone? No. Is it still a bannable offense if you get caught? Yes. Was it awful that it was shown on stream? Not really. Everyone figures out that this is all there eventually, specifically because every single XIV discord (just about) has a nsfw channel and it'll always get brought up there.
There isnt really anything to argue about. For the people who don't like it, it's bannable. For the people that do, it's only bannable if you're stupid about it. Both sides win.
Minors were only brought into the conversation as a morality trumping point and nothing else.
As someone who's very passionate about homicide detective work, I've seen a lot of unfortunate crime scene documentation. When I talk about minors in danger, that's what I'm referencing. When people here talk about minors in danger though, that's never what they're referencing-They just mean its cringe when two pretend catboys kiss. They bring it up in a way souly to put the person they're arguing against in what appears to be a tough and incriminating position. "Well you're probably a groomer too!!" It's just to win an argument. To silence someone because they dont like what that other person likes. Be honest with yourselves lol. It's selfish. You don't actually care deeply about the problem because if you did, you'd know that ERP isnt even in the equation in these real life crimes. You'd know that the things police/detectives/coroners have to see isnt because someone roleplayed online as another species. To even insinuate that is insulting, embarrassing, and narcissistic.
If you google "minecraft missing arizona girl" you'll see yourself that it doesnt matter what kind of game it is. If there's ERP/no ERP. All it takes is one unattended child who meets the wrong person, typically over Discord, Facebook, or Twitter. When you involve real life is when it gets dangerous. Not when you're pretending to be a hot lizard stud. Take up your issues with these other platforms and not XIV or the people who play it. If ERP makes you go "ew", then please just say that and that alone. If you're angry that kids participate and lie their way into adult situations, then bring that up with their parents because it won't stop until you do.
Pretty much what I said, but much better worded. They just use "won't someone think of the children" like they use "sexist" when you disagree with a woman's position or "racist" when you disagree with anything about minorities.
It's to label you as an evil person without ever having to even look at your position.
Nah, not really though. It only became a thing once a few of the louder voices in this thread kept claiming that sharing nude pictures of Lalafells and kid NPC's are alright since Lala's are actually grown-up adults and the kids are only digital, and how engaging minors in a sexual way online is actually a safe and totally healthy outlet for both parties.
That's what most people in this thread started arguing against. Not mods or ERP in general.
