It's also the 3rd expansion in a row we get the "everyone works together scene". the talos one was a blast. The EW one, despite feeling like déjà vu was well recieved because it refered to everything you've done in the game up until now.

The DT feels like a bad rip-off of the ShB one, and has no redeeming qualities. And I'll not even talk about the insert song during that sequence...

In my opinion, it's like Wuk Lamat can be replaced with any character, ranging from Scion member to a dude giving you levequests. It's like her character is only...loud and naive, even more naive than pre-Heavensward Alphinaud in my opinion. Hell, even if she was removed, we might not even see the difference. But at least she is not a full-blown Mary Sue, I guess, but almost though.

Personal opinion on the story after literally forcing myself to go through it and finishing the last trial - rock bottom had a cellar.
If I ever see Wok Lmao again, I will become a true story skipper.

Oh really? I mean she is naïve and dumb, but she can do just about anything she kinda is a Mary Sue - but she has a sea sickness... and yet any problem can be solved with her big heart and story somehow allows it even when it makes no sense whatsoever. I think that what's worse than Wuk Lamat, sort of, is a story that desperately attempts to validate her and her world views. It'd be fun to watch her face Garlemald and have Black Rose dropped on Tural, good luck loving that.

So everyone who played the game is aware of how brutal world of FF XIV can be, and yet, they force this theme of big heart conquers all. Do not get me wrong, I'd dig this sort of narrative if done well, but in this case it felt like someone is forcing it into me with a fist.

But you got through Stormblood? The only positive thing about Wuk is she seems to learn faster than Lyse. Lyse was dumb and obnoxious to the end. Still is IMO.
